Huawei Mobile Phones
Huawei is a Chinese company which was founded in 1987. Huawei has been internationally very successful but it has faced some difficulties in some markets. Huawei has achieved great success in its homeground as well as worldwide. Huawei sold 200 million Huawei mobile phones in 2018. It witnessed immense success between 2018 and 2020. For the very first time, Huawei became the world’s top smartphone seller taking over Samsung. This was the first that any company had taken over Samsung to become the world’s top smartphone seller. Huawei mobile phones became popular and the company said that its sole reason was the demand for premium range smartphones in the market.
Huawei sells smartphones that include high-end and premium phones whereas for budget phones it has a further brand bifurcation called Honor. Huawei has its own Mate and P line-up for Huawei mobile phones. Huawei’s first handset was shipped in 2004 and it was named C300. Huawei’s first 3G smartphone was launched in June 2005 and it was named U626. The company then decided to launch their first Vodafone-brand based 3G smartphone, V710 in 2006. Huawei’s first Android phone, U8220 was introduced in 2009. 2012 witnessed the launch of Huawei’s new smartphone line-up, the Ascend. The first Huawei mobile phone in this range was the Ascend P1 S.
Ascend D1 was later launched in 2012 itself. September 2021 saw the rise of Ascend P1 LTE which was Huawei’s first 4G ready phone. Later a lot of Huawei mobile phones were launched under the Ascend series. However, the Ascend line-up was later discontinued in the year 2015. The series was a line-up of flagship smartphones by the company. In replacement to this, Huawei launched the P series of smartphones. In the same year, Huawei collaborated with Google to develop the Nexus 6P.
Huawei also entered the accessories market along with the Huawei smartphones. It launched the first series of Huawei laptops in 2016. The series was named Huawei Matebook series. There is no stopping for Huawei in laptop production as they have continued to develop laptops even in 2020. The company also launched their own tablets and wearables in the market. They also launched their watch named Huawei Watch GT 2e in the Indian market in May, 2020. Not only Huawei smartphones but Huawei is also slowly entering other markets in India. Huawei also launched its own operating system in 2019. The operating system was named Harmony OS.
The Harmony OS operating system was not only restricted to Huawei mobile phones but it connected devices like in-car operating systems, smart displays and even wearable devices. This was also a landmark achievement for Huawei as it achieved success in this field as well. Huawei’s latest phone Huawei P50 Pro is yet to be launched in India. The expected launch date of the phone is 29th December, 2021. Huawei P50 Pro price in India is expected to be Rs. 68,890. Huawei P30 Pro was launched in India in 2019 and is priced at Rs. 59,990.
Huawei phones have shifted their focus to flagship smartphones in the past few years. It had been targeting the budget and mid-range segment of smartphones for a very long time. The P30 Pro had a unique feature which is a 5x “periscope” zoom lens. The phone made it to the top headlines since its launch in Paris. Recently, Huawei has started capturing the flagship smartphone market too. The company is leaving its footprint in the smartphone market. All eyes are watching out for the launch of Huawei P50 Pro by the end of 2021. Huawei has achieved great success in the smartphone market and would continue to do so with its unique phones and features.
