Every time I use any Vivo X series phone, one thing comes to mind: I’m using the best camera phone in its price segment. Two years back, I used my first Vivo X series phone, which was the Vivo X90, for long-term review, and I was telling everyone just look at this phone, what a crazy phone with an amazing camera setup. In that spam, I used multiple Vivo X and V series phones, including the Vivo X300 Pro, just a few months back.

Now, the brand has launched Vivo X300 FE with crazy camera sensors, offering amazing photos in most of the conditions. In night photography, it becomes a beast with fantastic colour output thanks to AI optimisation. So, let’s read my quick opinion on the Vivo X300 FE camera.

A Quick Information About Camera Specs
Vivo X300 FE comes with a triple rear camera setup featuring a 50MP (wide), 50MP (periscope telephoto) with 3x optical zoom, and an 8MP (ultrawide) sensor. I have not received the Photography Kit, but it offers a 200mm zoom and 2.35x optical zoom with ZEISS lenses.

Vivo’s camera kit is designed around the ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2, an extra lens that greatly extends the phone’s zoom range. This special “Fan Edition” kit also comes with an Imaging Grip that gives you physical controls like a real camera and extra battery life for people who like taking photos on their phones.
If you are active on social media, you may have already seen Vivo’s ads taken with the Vivo X300 FE and the camera kit.
It also comes with a 50MP front camera for selfies. You can record 8K video at 30fps with the rear camera and 4K at 30fps with the front camera.

From Delhi’s Harsh Sunlight To Street Lights: A Full-Day Camera Test
I spent an entire day shooting only with the Vivo X300 FE. From Delhi’s harsh afternoon light to dim street lamps at night, I wanted to see whether this phone could capture moments naturally, not just produce social media-ready photos.
Food Shots In Dim Light Look Surprisingly Rich
At the start, I clicked Biryani in dim lighting, and the final results came out rich in colour. I used two modes to take the same photo: first in the normal camera mode and second in Food Mode. You can clearly notice that Food Mode makes the image slightly more vivid and richer in colour, while the normal mode looks closer to reality.

So, if you are using its Food Mode, the final outcome will definitely appear more colourful and social media-friendly.

Harsh Sunlight? The Main Camera Still Looks Natural
Then, I visited the Jamia Millia Islamia campus, where I clicked a lot of images in sunlight, open areas, building structures, and even some running shots.

Most of the images were captured in harsh sunlight, but the main camera still maintained natural colours without making the scene look overly processed.

Similarly, the telephoto lens also delivered steady shots with impressive colours while capturing distant subjects.

Portrait Mode Became My Favourite Part
Its portrait mode is also amazing. Just look at some of the images taken between 1x and 10x zoom. The edge detection remained surprisingly consistent, and the dynamic range performed very well.

Honestly, I was not expecting such balanced results between 1 PM and 2 PM under harsh sunlight conditions.

Adding bokeh with the help of AI is probably my favourite part. It helps produce social media-friendly images without even needing extra editing.
Running Shots Look Surprisingly Stable
In advertisements, most images are shot in natural lighting with perfectly controlled backgrounds. But in real life, conditions usually look messy.

While travelling in an e-rickshaw, I captured a few running shots of the metro pillar artwork. Just look at the samples, it almost feels like I clicked static images. That’s how much balance the Vivo X300 FE provides while stabilising shutter speed.

You can notice that vehicles like bikes and cars appear sharp even while moving. At the same time, the metro shots also came out surprisingly steady.
However, these kinds of results are mostly consistent between 1x and 3x zoom. At up to 10x zoom, you may start noticing a slight difference in stability and detail.

A Camera That Even Beginners Can Easily Use
If you are a beginner in photography, then the Vivo X300 FE can easily become your perfect companion.

The camera offers multiple ZEISS preset filters, but what impressed me more was its intelligent mode suggestions. Based on the subject, the camera automatically recommends the most suitable shooting mode.
For example:
- If the subject is a person or pet, it suggests Portrait Mode.
- If the subject is a building or open landscape, it recommends Snapshot or High-Resolution mode.
- If the subject is food, it instantly suggests switching to Food Mode.
- If the subject is a document, it will suggest Document Mode.
So, if you are someone who does not fully understand camera modes, this feature genuinely helps in getting better shots quickly.
A Beast In Night Photography
Its night photography was honestly my favourite part.

You can check the image samples below. I would not say the images are completely natural, but Vivo adds colours very smoothly, resulting in social media-friendly photos without making scenes look overly artificial.

The phone also avoids making night scenes excessively bright, which helps maintain a more cinematic mood. Night Mode works gently in the background instead of completely changing how the scene originally looked.

You might still need to adjust brightness slightly to capture the best possible shot, but overall, the results looked impressive.

Reliable Front Camera
The 50MP front camera also impressed me throughout the day. In daylight, it captures natural skin tones with balanced exposure and good facial details without making the face look overly smooth.

Even in low-light and nighttime conditions, the camera retains decent sharpness while keeping colours vibrant for social media-ready selfies. Portrait selfies also looked clean, with solid edge detection and a natural background blur effect.

Verdict Of Vivo X300 FE Camera
After spending a full day with the Vivo X300 FE camera, I genuinely feel Vivo once again proved why its X series stands among the best camera phones in the segment. The phone focuses more on delivering social media-friendly photos without making scenes look overly artificial.
From portraits and motion shots to night photography, the overall camera experience feels reliable, beginner-friendly, and fun to use. Yes, some images may appear slightly processed at times, especially at night, but most people will actually enjoy the final output. If you love clicking photos without spending time editing them later, the Vivo X300 FE can easily impress you.
