Vivo V70 Design and Build
After using a similar design in the last three V series, Vivo moved on and brought a new design to the Vivo V70 series. Its new design is quite similar to the iPhone 15 series, but the camera bump is perfectly positioned and lies flat on the table in a balanced way.

I’m using its new Canary (Lemon) colour, which is so good-looking. It feels amazing in the hand, and the fiber-reinforced plastic back doesn’t attract dust or finger stains in daily use.

It has an aluminum alloy frame and a body that fits perfectly in a single hand. Surprisingly, it has only 7.4 mm thickness with a flat design, making it more premium than its previous generation.

With this model, Vivo also worked on slimming its body, rather than focusing on the camera segment.

While its lightweight is also a talking point, it weighs only 187 grams, compared to the Vivo V60 at around 192 grams. The brand also added IP68/IP69 dust-tight and water-resistant rating to resist high-pressure water jets; immersible up to 1.5m for 30 minutes.

When we talk about ports, this device has some important features. At the top, there is an IR blaster, a second speaker, and a microphone.

On the right side, you’ll find the power and volume buttons.

At the bottom, there is a speaker, a Type-C charging port, another microphone, and a SIM card tray. Overall Vivo V70 design review is excellent for me.
Vivo V70 Camera
Vivo V70 offers amazing camera results with 50 MP (wide), 50 MP (periscope telephoto), with OIS, 3x optical zoom, and an 8 MP (ultrawide) sensor.

This phone offers good HDR and dynamic range in daylight. You can see image samples with proper captured dynamic range. It also offers accurate color, contrast, and sharp images with natural colors.

You can see flower and red building images where the colours are so accurate, and the dynamic range is balanced.

It offers strong low-light performance compared to mid-range phones. You can see my image, which I captured in low light in portrait mode, and got super results. So, its main camera is reliable for everyday photography.

Its telephoto lens offers 3× optical zoom for true-zoom photos, with ZEISS optics tuned for portraits.

Moreover, it has up to 100× digital zoom; during the Vivo V70 review, I captured the running metro at 10x, and you can see how stable the image is. It offers clear zoom shots without heavy cropping.

I got the best portrait results with accurate edge detection and a natural skin tone. Just a few times ago, I used Vivo X200T and close to it in portrait. You can also use it for stage photography or distant subjects.

Its ultrawide sensor is the weakest part of the camera setup. It offers less detail than the main and telephoto cameras. So, you can get better results in landscapes and group shots, but not the phone’s strength.

Moving on front camera, it has a 50MP ZEISS selfie camera with autofocus and a wide 92-degree field of view for group selfies. It also offer high detail for video calls and content creation. But if you capture in harsh light, then you may experience HDR struggle.

I recorded videos in 4K quality at 60 frames per second using the back camera and at 30 frames per second with the front camera. The overall quality of the videos is very good, and it also picked up my voice well, even with background noise.
Vivo V70 Battery and Charging
The Vivo V70 offers excellent battery life without relying on gimmicky battery statistics. During my testing, I achieved almost 10 hours of screen-on time with a single charge. I primarily watched videos, including T20 World Cup matches on YouTube, and spent some time scrolling through social media. When gaming, the battery life drops slightly to around 7 hours of screen time.
Battery life depends significantly on usage; for example, if you use this phone to watch downloaded movies in flight mode with nothing running in the background, you can achieve nearly 15 hours of screen time or more.

This phone comes with a 90W Flash charger to juice it up in just 47 minutes. Moreover, it supports Multi-Scenario Bypass Charging to reduce heat during gaming. It also supports reverse wired charging to charge your earbuds and smartwatches.
Vivo V70 Display
The Vivo V70 comes with 6.59 inches AMOLED display, offering an amazing viewing experience. Moreover, this phone supports HDR10+, allowing you to watch HDR videos from Netflix, Amazon Prime, YouTube, etc., with proper deep blacks.

Moreover, it has a 120Hz refresh rate for fast display scrolling. The brand has introduced different screen color settings to enhance your viewing experience.

There’s a “natural” mode for softer colors, a “professional” mode for true-to-life and accurate colors, and a “bright” mode for vivid, bold, and vibrant colors.

I used this phone in bright light, and it performed excellently without reflections, thanks to its 5000 nits of peak brightness. It has very minimal notching with a 90.7 per cent screen-to-body ratio and Schott Xensation Core, Mohs level 4 protection, to protect against accidental damage.
Vivo V70 Performance
Vivo V70 is powered by a Qualcomm SM7750-AB Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 (4 nm) chipset, delivering smooth performance for everyday use. This is the same chipset which previously used in the V series. This time, Vivo has included UFS 4.1 storage and fast LPDDR5X RAM, making the phone perform better than older models. You can easily use multiple apps at the same time. I noticed I could open BGMI right after leaving it for 5 to 6 hours without having to reopen it.

During the Vivo V70 review, I played many BGMI games, and I didn’t experience any lag or overheating during my games. After playing three games in a row, the phone got warm, but it wasn’t too bad. If you charge your phone while playing, it might get warmer, but that’s not a big problem.

I also ran several Benchmark tests on the Vivo V70 to assess its performance across different aspects. Its Geekbench scores are 1336 in single-core and 4133 in multi-core. No CPU thermal throttling detected. Moreover, its Antutu score is 1442348. The 3D Mark Wildlife Extreme Stress Test for stability has an overall score of 64.3%.
Vivo V70 Software and UI
The Vivo V70 runs on Android 16 and comes with OriginOS 6 out of the box. A few months ago, Vivo globally shifted from Funtouch OS to OriginOS, which had previously been limited to China.

This new UI feels cleaner and more modern than previous Vivo software. The interface looks fresh and slightly inspired by iOS, especially with features like a Dynamic Island-style notification capsule.

You can customise widgets, wallpapers, system styles, and the home screen layout easily.

Scrolling feels smooth. Animations when opening or closing apps are fluid. Vivo has improved software optimisation this time, and the phone feels well-tuned with the hardware.

In the app drawer, I’m using the A-to-Z sorting during the Vivo V70 review, though you can also choose to sort by usage frequency.

However, there is one thing I didn’t like. The phone still comes with a lot of pre-installed apps like Snapchat, Block Blast, LinkedIn, Netflix, and Spotify. These are not necessary and feel like bloatware.

The good thing is that you can uninstall most of them. If you keep them, they may slowly affect performance over time.
The phone also brings several AI features, especially focused on its ZEISS camera system. You get tools like AI telephoto tracking for distant subjects, enhanced portrait video processing, and generative AI effects that can change weather or seasonal elements in photos.
For productivity, the phone integrates Google Gemini, Circle to Search, and editing tools like AI Eraser inside the gallery.
Overall, the OriginOS 6 experience on the Vivo V70 feels much better optimised than older Vivo phones, though the extra apps still take away a bit from the otherwise clean experience.
In this Vivo V70 Review, the phone stands out mainly for its ZEISS-powered camera system and excellent portrait photography. The slim design, large battery, and improved OriginOS6 optimisation make it a reliable daily driver. However, the average ultrawide camera and slightly higher pricing may concern some buyers. If camera performance matters most in the mid-range segment, the Vivo V70 is easily one of the best options available right now.
