Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 Design and Build
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 is one of the best compact phones, offering a great in-hand feeling and being pocket-friendly. After folding this phone, it fits perfectly in a single hand, giving an incredible feeling of freedom to roam.

Its body dimensions are unfolded: 166.7 x 75.2 x 6.5 mm and folded: 85.5 x 75.2 x 13.7 mm. Moreover, this phone is the slimmest Flip yet, measuring 13.7 mm thick when folded and 6.5 mm thick when unfolded.

So, it is significantly thinner than previous models, featuring an improved FlexHinge for a flatter close and a larger cover screen.

According to Samsung, “Flex Mode is exclusive to the Samsung Galaxy Z series of foldable smartphones and allows the apps you are viewing to adapt to the angle of the screen when it’s positioned anywhere between 75 and 115 degrees.”

So, it allows Hands‑free selfies and vlogging. The Flip7 acts like its own tripod for the camera, ideal for vlog, Reels, or long video calls. You can also use it for tabletop streaming and multitasking, like watching YouTube or Netflix on the top while using controls, or even split‑screen tools on the bottom for notes or chats.

Talking about design, Samsung made an excellent design compared to last year’s Flip6. Rounders are super clean and smooth, made with an Armor aluminium frame. Its glass back is made with Gorilla Glass Victus 2 to withstand accidental damage. Moreover, the brand added IP48 dust and water resistance, with a dust rating of 1mm and immersibility up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes.

Its weight is also worth considering, at only 188 grams. Furthermore, Samsung uses a raised protective bezel around the inner display, made of plastic with a slightly rubberised feel. This tech added to cushion the foldable panel when you snap the Flip7 shut and to reduce long‑term wear on the ultra‑thin glass. Over weeks of use, these small design choices add up, a point I’ll keep revisiting in this Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 long-term review.
Moving on to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 ports, its top has a secondary speaker, and the right side has a power button and volume buttons. You will see a SIM tray on the left side, a main speaker, and a Type-C slot at the bottom of the phone.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 Camera
After doing the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 long-term review, I can say the camera is a bit overshadowed by Samsung, given the one lakh-plus price.

At the same time, I was using a Google Pixel 9 Pro XL, where I noticed a significant difference between the two cameras. To give you more context, both prices are close, but the phones are different in nature. So, it will not be justified to compare the camera results from a single eye.

Anyway, it has only a 50MP wide-angle and a 12MP ultrawide sensor, which performs only mediocrely in all conditions. I also took this phone with me on my visit to the Taj Mahal. I clicked a lot of images after 3:00 PM, and the light conditions were perfect.

But I noticed a lack of depth in the results. Images are pixelated, and you can’t zoom in a little bit. But its colours are accurate even in night conditions.

Moving on to its portrait mode, I took a few images, and the phone captured them perfectly, with no flaws. Moreover, its backlit section also displays vivid colours, and the hue yields more eye-catching results.

Notably, it offers excellent images in night conditions. At the same time, it comes with a 10MP front camera, which delivers better image quality than its rear camera. You can see my skin tone is close to accurate even in bright conditions.

Furthermore, you can use its rear camera as a front camera using its secondary display. Its video recording capability is also average. You can record 4K videos at 30fps with both the rear and front cameras.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 Battery and Charging
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7’s 4,300mAh battery may look mediocre on paper, but in real-world usage, things are quite different. For a flip phone with such a slim design, fitting in massive, gimmicky battery numbers like 6,000mAh or 7,000mAh is not so practical as of now (maybe in the future).

The most important thing is that numbers alone don’t always reflect actual performance. In daily use, the Flip7 comfortably delivers around seven to eight hours of screen-on time on a single charge, along with over 24 hours of battery life in mixed usage. During my review period, my usage mainly consisted of watching YouTube, scrolling social media, and capturing images. I played fewer games like BGMI, but as expected, gaming drains the battery faster than regular use.
During the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 long-term review, I usually charged this phone with an Apple 20W charger and sometimes with a 100W OnePlus charger. It takes almost an hour to charge fully.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 Display
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 comes with 6.9 inches foldable Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2X display and 4.1 inches Super AMOLED. One of the best things Samsung improved was the display, with disappearing folded spots on the screen.

Flip7 display is screen is proof of Samsung engineering, which takes a lot of work in consistency. Samsung reduces the fold crease on the Galaxy Z Flip 7 through a recognised combination of Ultra Thin Glass (UTG). Notably, newer UTG versions have greater elasticity, reducing permanent crease formation. Moreover, a teardrop-style FlexHinge and advanced multi-layer display engineering that distribute stress more evenly during every fold.

This phone also has a native 120Hz refresh rate, offering smooth display scrolling. During my Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 long-term review, I watched a lot of movies in high quality because it supports HDR10+. Currently, I’m watching The Family Man 3, which is a dark theme series, and its deep black is excellent.

You can also use it in bright light as well, thanks to 2600 nits peak brightness. I used this phone in sunlight, but no reflections were observed.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 Performance
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7’s performance is excellent and perfect for daily use. This phone is packed with Samsung’s most powerful chipset to date, the Exynos 2500 (3 nm) chipset. I only have one concern with Samsung’s in-house developed chips: heating issues.
The brand could not address the heating issue on Exynos devices because two weeks ago, I was using a Samsung Galaxy S25 FE, which has an Exynos chipset. And the heating issue is consistant that why Samsung uses Sanpdragon chipset in their S25 Ultra.

Just to clarify to you all that it does not affect you day to day routine usage. But yes, you will feel it during BGMI gameplay or similar battle ground games, and you will use its camera to record for hours plus. I really enjoyed using this during my Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 long-term review.
Samsung only offers two storage options, which are 256GB 12GB RAM and 512GB 12GB RAM. But the best thing is that having UFS 4.0 allows you to keep your phone fast data processing and less battery consumption. Just clarify who doesn’t know about USF usage in daily use. In short, the latest UFS define how fast your phone can fetch saved data. So, Faster UFS reloads app data quickly, and Slower UFS causes refreshes, white screens, or reloads.

I also run several benchmarks to tell a more accurate story about Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7’s performance. Its Geekbench scores are 2199 in single-core and 7304 in multi-core. The maximum in the CPU throttling test is 51 per cent. Moreover, its Antutu score is 2059677. The 3D Mark Wildlife Extreme Stress Test for stability has an overall score of 41.2%.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 Software and UI
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 comes with lastest Android 16 with OneUI 8. I use all the UI’s avilable in India, and without hesitation, I can say One UI 8 is king over all user interfaces. Samsung allow so many options to customise your interface.

Moreover, opening and closing apps, app widgets, and home screen animations are so cool.

You might notice some bloatware as well, but all are Samsung’s authorised apps, such as SmartThings, Samsung Shop, Health, Bixby, Smart Tutor, etc., which are less battery-intensive in everyday use. So you can keep them according to their use, or remove or hide them from the home screen.

Samsung AI also rocked in every aspect. There is no AI’s have Galaxy AI-type accuracy, nor Apple Intelligence, nor other brands. Galaxy AI offers personalised experiences, featuring an enhanced Cover Screen for quick AI tasks like reading news briefs or viewing photo memories.

Plus, advanced camera AI for better selfies, and it integrates powerful tools like Live Translate, Note Assist, and Circle to Search, making it a pocket-sized AI powerhouse for more innovative daily use and content creation.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 is not a phone made to win spec wars. It’s made to change how you use a smartphone every day. Its compact form factor, refined hinge, improved foldable display, and polished software experience make it one of the most enjoyable phones to carry and use. While the camera and charging speeds don’t justify the premium price on paper, the overall experience does.
If you value design, portability, multitasking, and a future-ready foldable experience, this Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 long-term review confidently proves that it remains the best compact foldable phone you can buy right now.
