Expanding its K series, LG has unveiled a new set of smartphones for catering its users all over the globe. One of the newly launched smartphones making its way to the Indian smartphone market is the LG K42. According to the company, LG K42 is a rugged device and has passed the US military tests for surviving in the harsh conditions. For more details, let us have a look at this device.  

LG K42 Price in India

The latest rugged smartphone from LG is available in two colour options and those are Green and Red. As for the RAM, LG K42 comes in a single variant with 3GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. LG K42 price in India is Rs.10,990. When we compare the LG K42 specifications with other smartphones from the same price point, this device stands tall for the durability only, while for the rest, the given price tag is too much for this device.

The layout on the rear side features a wave pattern along with UV coating for protecting the surface from scratches and fingerprints. There is a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, while on the front the smartphone comes with a small perforation for housing the selfie camera. For unmatched visual experience, the screen comes with minimum bezels. LG K42 comes with MIL-STD 810G Military Standard certification, which allows this device to stand against accidental drops.

There is nothing unique about the display of this smartphone. LG K42 features a simple 6.6-inch HD+ Punch-hole display, which can be useful for watching series on the web and vlogs. There is no protection on the front side as it should have been for a rugged smartphone.

The chipset that has been used in this smartphone is MediaTek Helio P22, which is an octa-core processor and clocked at 2.0GHz. There is 3GB RAM and 64GB internal storage clubbed with this chipset for managing smooth multi-tasking and storing huge data. The external storage can be expanded up to 256GB via microSD card. LG K42 runs on Android 10.0 for offering a smooth user-interface.

The camera section of LG K42 includes a 13MP Quad-rear camera setup with a 13MP main sensor followed by a 5MP Wide sensor, a 2MP depth sensor and a 2MP Macro sensor. For selfies, the LG K42 features an 8MP sensor under the punch-hole. The overall camera setup offered in this device is excellent for capturing sharp and vivid pictures and the face recognition feature gives an extra edge to this new LG smartphone.  

LG has stuffed this rugged phone with a huge 4000 mAh battery for providing a long battery backup to ensure uninterrupted performance. Furthermore, there is a Type-C charging port for connecting the charger. Unfortunately, there is no support for fast charging, so it might take more hours to refill the battery.

LG K42 is a decent smartphone for those who are looking for a rugged device for sustaining in the harsh conditions as it comes with a UV coating and has passed many endurance tests. But for other features, the smartphone lags and turns overpriced. For durability, LG K42 is recommended, but for overall performance, we won’t recommend this device at all.
