The Micromax IN 1b is equipped with an octa-core processor from Mediatek, a large screen, a dual-camera setup and a massive battery to keep it all powered. The best thing is that we are getting a full stock version of Android with this one and Micromax has promised 2 years of updates which is quite a surprise considering the price and the specs.

Micromax was a household name till 2017 when it released its last smartphones for the time being and has been underground till now. Micromax has officially made its comeback in the smartphone category with the newly announced “IN” series of smartphones. The main focus for Micromax this time is making bloatware free and adware free smartphones that are made in India. Let’s see if there is any rain following the thunder of Micromax’s return to the smartphone category.
The Micromax IN 1b is a budget-oriented, entry-level smartphone for those who are looking to get the most out of their smartphones in a cheaper price tag. The Micromax IN 1b packs in an octa-core processor, a large screen, dual cameras and a massive battery to go with it.
Micromax IN 1b Price in India
Micromax has priced the Micromax IN 1b at a starting price of ₹6,999 for the base variant and ₹7,999 for the top variant. The Micromax IN 1b will be available to buy from 26th of November, 2020 from various retail points.
The Micromax IN 1b sports a back which gives off nice gradient looks which gives it a bit of premium look. On the back, we have a dual-camera setup and the LED flash to go with it, and the loudspeaker while on the front we have a glass screen with a teardrop-shaped notch for the front camera. The volume buttons and the power button, are placed on the right side of the device with a dedicated button on the left side for the Google Assistant. On the bottom of the device, we have the USB Type-C port, the microphone, and the headphone jack.
The Micromax IN 1b is available in Blue, Purple and Green colour choices.
The display used in the Micromax IN 1b is a 6.52-inch 720 by 1560 pixel HD+ display with a 19.5:9 ratio. The display is of IPS LCD technology with a pixel density of 264ppi. There is a teardrop-shaped notch to house the front camera within the screen. The chin could have been a bit slimmer as it would have made the front look a lot sleeker.
The brains behind the Micromax IN 1b is a Mediatek Helio G35 which is a 12nm processor with clock speeds up to 2.3GHz. The phone comes in with 2GB or 4GB of memory and storage variant of either 32GB or 64GB. The storage can be expanded via the dedicated microSD card slot provided. It runs on the stock version of Android and there is a promise of zero presence of bloatware and adware on the device.
Micromax IN 1b has a dual-camera setup on the back and a single selfie camera on the front. The rear camera consists of a main 13MP wide sensor with f/1.8 aperture and a 2MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. There is an LED flash for helping in lighting up the scene. The selfie camera is a single 8MP sensor. The video output is rated at 1080p at 30 fps on both the front and the rear cameras.
The Micromax IN 1b is bundled with a massive 5000mAh battery which is going to last a very long time between charges considering the specs of the device. There is the reverse charging feature available as well on this device. There is a 10W charger included in the box for some fast charging.
The Micromax IN 1b is a good phone for those looking to buy an entry-level smartphone. The stock Android will ensure smooth working and no ads and bloatware will ensure there is nothing unwanted on the device. The Mediatek Helio G35 will handle most of the workload the user can throw at it. It’s good to see Micromax back in the game with such promising specs and above all, a smartphone made in India which is competing with the likes of Xiaomi and Realme.
