Bharti Airtel has brought back its popular Rs 299 prepaid recharge plan, giving budget-conscious customers another affordable option. The telecom operator had discontinued this recharge pack a few months ago and encouraged users to move towards higher-priced plans. However, the Rs 299 plan has now reportedly returned with the same daily data benefits and 28 days of validity.

One catch: customers can currently access this Airtel prepaid plan only through the official Airtel Thanks app. The move could help Airtel attract price-sensitive customers who want unlimited calling and daily internet benefits without spending more on expensive recharge packs.

Why Has Airtel Brought Back The Rs 299 Recharge Plan?

Airtel previously replaced the Rs 299 recharge option with a Rs 349 plan as part of its strategy to increase average revenue per user (ARPU). The move helped the company improve its ARPU to around Rs 271, according to the information shared in the report.

However, higher recharge prices may have pushed some budget-conscious users towards competing operators such as BSNL and Vodafone Idea (Vi).

Bringing back the Rs 299 pack could help Airtel retain these customers while encouraging them to use its official digital platform. For now, the company has not officially announced the plan's return or confirmed whether it will become available through other recharge channels.
