5G Launch On The Horizon
BSNL prepares for a 5G rollout in June 2025 after the installation of 4G towers installation. Telecom Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia says 5G starts after 4G installation stabilizes. The shift to 5G needs only minor upgrades. BSNL tests 5G in Delhi at Nehru Place, Chanakyapuri, and Minto Road. The 5G network uses 900 MHz and 3.3 GHz bands. It targets 100,000 users first, including Fixed Wireless Access. India bans foreign tech, relying on local solutions like Tejas Networks. Only three firms—Tejas, Lekha Wireless, and Galore Network—bid for Delhi’s 5G tender.
