MediaTek is reportedly gearing up to launch two fresh processors: the Dimensity 9500 and Dimensity 8500. The Dimensity 9500 is likely to be at the heart of upcoming flagship models, including devices from the Vivo X300 series and the OPPO Find X9 family. Meanwhile, the Dimensity 8500 appears to be tailored for high-performance mid-range smartphones. According to the leaks, new insights have emerged about the Dimensity 8500 chip, along with the identity of the first smartphone set to debut with it. So, here is everything you need to know.
Dimensity 8500 Leaks Reveal The Performance Stats

The latest leaks reveal that the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 will be manufactured using TSMC’s advanced 4nm process. Although the CPU architecture sees minimal revisions, the GPU, Mali-G720, has reportedly received major upgrades.

Devices To Be Powered By This Chipset
The Xiaomi Redmi Turbo 5 will debut as the first smartphone powered by the Dimensity 8500 chipset, with its release likely slated for late 2025 or early January 2026. This aligns with other leaks pointing to the POCO X8 Pro, expected to hit global markets in January 2026, as another Dimensity 8500 device. The connection makes sense, given that the X8 Pro will be a rebranded variant of the Redmi Turbo 5.
Additionally, several major brands—including Honor, iQOO, and Ouga Group members (Oppo, OnePlus, and Realme)—are also preparing to roll out smartphones featuring the Dimensity 8500 platform. So, stay tuned for more leaks and updates on this chipset.
