Google has officially confirmed that it will be launching its first foldable phone, the Google Pixel Fold, at the upcoming I/O developer conference that kicks off on May 10, 2023. The tech giant has released a teaser video showing off the design of the Pixel Fold, which resembles the book-like design of the OPPO Find N Fold.
Let us know more about the design, specifications and other details of the upcoming handset in this article.
Google Pixel Fold: Design
Google shared an 8-second teaser video revealing the full design of the handset. The Pixel Fold’s outer screen takes up the entire front panel, while the back houses the camera module, just like the Pixel 7 series. The device comes in a gold finish with a shiny metal frame covering the device. The Pixel Fold’s design, with its chunky bezels and broad frame, is in line with the renders and a purported live video that had leaked previously.
The Pixel Fold is likely to feature a 5.8-inch outer display and a 7.6-inch interior display. It will most likely feature the in-house Tensor G2 chipset, which is the same as the Pixel 7 series. Rumours suggest that the device will weigh over 280 grams and will come with the most durable hinge.
The Pixel Fold is expected to be priced at over $1,700, which translates to almost Rs 1.4 lakh. With less than a week to go before the Google I/O conference, we will get to know all about the upcoming smartphone very soon. Along with its first foldable smartphone, Google is also expected to launch the Google Pixel 7a and finally make the Google Pixel Tablet official at I/O 2023.
