Motorola has been more of a mid-range smartphone maker as of late. The only ultra premium device that the company came up with was the Motorola Razr. However, the smartphone performed terribly in the market and was basically a flop. However, the company seems to be finally focusing on bringing out premium devices that actually matter.
Three Motorola smartphones with the codenames of Berlin, Kyoto and PStar have been in the rumor mill for quite some time now. The smartphones have appeared in several leaks in the past couple of weeks which revealed their key specifications. Moreover, the Motorola Berlin has also received the Indian BIS certification recently. It does hint at the device launching in India pretty soon.
Now, noted Tipster Evan Blass took to Twitter to reveal the official monikers of the device. The upcoming flagship Motorola smartphones will come with the official monikers of Motorola Edge 20, 20 Pro and 20 Lite. Taking things back a bit, the Edge+ was launched in the country recently. Moreover, the Edge S was announced in China, which was launched as the Moto G100 in global markets.
Evan Blass also revealed the key specifications of the upcoming Motorola Edge 20 series devices last week. To add to this, all three of these smartphones are expected to launch by the end of this month. The Motorola Edge 20 which comes with the codename of Berlin will launch in two variants. One a Verizon-bound edition for the North American region, while the other, a global variant.
Motorola Edge 20 Specifications (Leaked)
The Motorola Edge Berlin will feature a 6.67-inch 120Hz fast refresh rate display. Additionally, the display will come with a resolution of 2,400×1,080 pixels. On the other hand, the NA variant will come with a larger 6.78-inch full-HD+ 120Hz fast refresh rate display. Additionally, the display will come with a resolution of 2,460×1,080 pixels.
Moreover, both the editions will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC. The octa-core chipset is paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. For photos and videos, both the variants will come with a triple rear camera setup. The setup will include a 108-megapixel primary sensor alongside a 16-megapixel secondary wide-angle sensor. Additionally, there will most likely be an 8-megapixel 3X zoom telephoto sensor as well.
On the software front, both the smartphone variants are said to run on Android 11. There are differences when it comes to battery though. While the global variant will pack a 4000mAh battery, the NA variant will pack a larger 5000mAh battery.

The Motorola Edge 20 Lite will most likely arrive with a 90Hz refresh rate panel. Additionally, the display will come with a resolution of 2,400×1,080 pixels. On the processor front, the smartphone will most likely carry the MediaTek Dimensity 720 SoC. The octa-core chipset will be paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
For photos and videos, the smartphone will most likely feature a triple rear camera setup. The setup will include a 108-megapixel primary sensor alongside an 8-megapixel wide-angel sensor. Additionally, there will also be a 2-megapixel depth sensor. On the front, the device might come with a 16-megapixel selfie sensor. When it comes to battery, the smartphone may pack a big 5000mAh battery.
Edge 20 Pro Specifications (Leaked)
According to Evan Blass, Motorola Edge 20 Pro (codename PStar) will most likely be announced in India, Asia, Australia, Europe, and Latin America. Furthermore, the smartphone will probably run on Android 11 and feature a 6.67-inch display. Additionally, the full-HD+ display will come with a resolution of 2,400×1,080 pixels. The smartphone is also expected to come with a fast refresh rate of 120Hz.
On the processor front, the Motorola Edge 20 Pro will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC. The octa-core flagship chipset is paired with up to 12GB of RAM, making it the most premium offering in the series.
When it comes to the cameras, the smartphone will feature a triple rear camera setup. The setup includes a 108-megapixel primary sensor alongside a 16-megapixel wide-angle sensor. Additionally, the wide-angle sensor will also come with a macro mode alongside an 8-megapixel telephoto 5X Zoom sensor. On the front, the smartphone could sport a 16-megapixel sensor for selfies and video calls. Lastly, the device may pack a decent 4,500mAh battery.
