Snapdragon 782G Marks Debut As 778G+’s Replacement

Qualcomm has introduced its latest SoC the Snapdragon 782G (SM7325-AF). It just arrived on Wednesday. It is the successor to the Snapdragon 778G+SoC.

Similar Features Of 782G With 778G+

The new SoC stands Similar to the SD778G+. As it has a 6nm chipset with an 8-core Kryo 670 processor. Also, an Adreno 642L.

The CPU comes with the same core setup as the 778G+. It has a – 1 Kryo 670 Prime core (Cortex-A78) while running up to 200MHz faster at 2.7GHz. Also, 3 Kryo 670 Gold (also Cortex-A78) at up to 2.2GHz, and 4 Kryo 670 Silver (Cortex-A55) at up to 1.9GHz.

In the presence of a slight bump in clock speed, the CPU is around 5 per cent faster. However, the GPU is said to be 10 per cent faster than the Snapdragon 778G+.

The new SoC shares similarities with the older SoC. It offers Quick Charge 4+ (up to 50 per cent in 15 minutes). Also the same Fused AI Accelerator architecture.

Plus the same Qualcomm Spectra ISP with triple 14-bit ISP support. It has the ability to process up to 2 gigapixels per sec. Along with 200-megapixel resolution support.

The modem is even the same Snapdragon X53. Along with Sub-6GHz and mmWave support. As well as FastConnect 6700 brings Wi-Fi 6 up to 2.9 Gbps. Along with ample capacity over the 6 GHz spectrum plus integrated Bluetooth® 5.2.

The California-based semiconductor manufacturer has not given any official announcement of when the new Snapdragon 782G SoC will be used in smartphones.

However, the company has not given any hint of which smartphone manufacturers will become the first to feature the new chipset. Well, it is suggested to power smartphones in the premium-midrange segment.

Expectations are laid that Honor 80 can be the one. However, we are not sure about that.
