On World Music Day today, Sony announces the launch of a new wireless series of waterproof speakers – SRS-XB13. This latest portable Bluetooth speaker offers extra bass technology and 16-hour battery life, among other features. Moreover, its’ design can withstand the elements thanks to IP67 dust and water resistance. In addition, it also features a new Sound Diffusion Processor for enhanced beats and a wider sound spread.

SonySRS-XB13 Extra Bass: Price in India
The new speaker comes with a price tag of Rs 3,990. It comes in six color options — Black, Light Blue, Pink, Powder Blue, Taupe, and Yellow. This puts the speaker in direct competition with other budget segments for wireless speakers. However, it’s a considerably smaller speaker than most options in this price range, with a single top-firing speaker.

Moreover, SRS-XB13 will be available on major e-commerce retailers as well as offline retailers. Apart from Sony’s own online and offline exclusive stores, major multi-brand retailers will also be stocking the wireless speaker. It will be available from 21st June 2021 onwards.
In addition, Sony India announced a 4-day sale for World Music Day with special offers on select audio products, ranging from headphones, truly wireless series, portable Bluetooth speakers, and soundbars on June 18.

Sony SRS-XB13 Extra Bass Features
Key features for the speaker come in the form of IP67 dust and water resistance. This makes it highly resistant to exposure to the elements and suitable for outdoor use. Moreover, one can even wash it or submerge it in water for short periods of time. The speaker weighs about 253g and has a single 46mm speaker driver. There is also a passive radiator that helps produce the bass-friendly sonic signature that the Extra Bass lineup from Sony is known for.
SRS-XB13 offers seamless Bluetooth connectivity and incorporates Google’s 3 Fast Pair technology. It allows users to quickly connect compatible Android smartphones or tablets. Users can connect their smartphones or tablets that will prompt them to connect when the speaker is switched on. This, in turn, allows them to start listening to music in seconds through SRS XB13.

Furthermore, it uses Bluetooth 4.2 for connectivity, with support for the SBC and AAC Bluetooth codecs. Moreover, there is also a rated frequency response range of 20-20,000Hz. You can also charge it through a USB Type-C port. In addition, the speaker claims to have a battery life of up to 16 hours per charge. It also has an inbuilt microphone that lets you use the speaker as a hands-free unit for calls.
