Performance department is as far the most similar in both the devices. Both of them rock industry leading internals and by looking at the spec-sheet, you can hardly notice any difference. Both the Motorola Edge+ and the OnePlus 8 Pro are powered by the current best and flagship processor, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865. With both of them getting the Adreno 650 GPU, the Edge+ gets up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.0 storage. The 8 Pro on the other hand gets 8GB/12 of RAM and 128GB/256GB UFS 3.1 storage.  The Edge+ runs Android 10 out-of-the-box whereas in the OnePlus 8 Pro, you get the Android 10 based Oxygen OS skin for a clean Android experience.

Camera

Camera department, especially on the spec-sheet, looks way better on the Motorola Edge+. So, the Edge+ gets a gigantic 108MP primary lens with an f/1.7 aperture, accompanied by an 8MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. The third is a 16MP ultra-wide lens with 117-degree FoV clubbed with a TOF sensor. The rear camera gets OIS and supports 6K UHD at 30fps.There’s a 25MP shooter with an f/2.0 aperture at the front.

With an aperture of f/1.78, it supports both OIS and EIS. The second is a 48-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor with 119.7-degree field of view. Third, we have an 8-megapixel telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture paired with a fourth 5-megapixel colour filter sensor with f/2.4 aperture. At the front is a 16MP shooter embedded in a small 3.8mm diameter punched-hole.

So, spec-sheet comparison shows that Motorola Edge+ is the winner.

Battery

OnePlus 8 Pro stands as a clear winner in the battery department, mostly due to fast charging speeds. The OnePlus 8 Pro gets a 4510mAh battery with Warp Charge 30T support. The company claims the device will get charged up to 60 per cent in 30 minutes. This time, we also have Warp Charge 30 Fast wireless charging and also reverse wireless charging on a OnePlus device.

The Motorola Edge+ on the other hand gets a bigger 5,000mAh battery. But it gets less fast 18W fast charging support. There’s also wireless charging but with 15W wireless charging support.

So, it is quite clear that OnePlus 8 Pro is the winner.

Final Decision

Now, which is the best pick amongst the two if you are ready to shed more than Rs.50,000 from your pockets. The OnePlus 8 Pro, no doubt, is an amazing option to choose. It is basically an all-rounder coming from a very reliable brand which has a reputation of manufacturing smartphones that you won’t regret even a single day. On the other hand, Motorola Edge+ offers stock Android experience, better-looking design and a stunning 108MP camera system. But, the 8 Pro also doesn’t seem to lag behind with that gorgeous Quad-HD+, 120Hz refresh rate panel. Oxygen OS is also no way behind stock Android, so as of now, the OnePlus 8 Pro comes out as a more justifiable pick.
