OPPO A56 5G

With the introduction of a new smartphone, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer Oppo has extended its A-Series portfolio. The Oppo A56 5G, a mid-range smartphone, has been introduced by the firm. The gadget is powered by a 5,000mAh battery and has a dual-camera setup on the back. Let’s take a look at all the features one by one to know what it has got for the users. 

Oppo A56 5G price in India 

A single storage option with 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage is available for the Oppo A56 5G, and it’s priced at CNY 1,599. You may choose from Cloud Smoke Blue, Soft Fog Black or Wind Chime Purple for the smartphone’s colour scheme. Pre-orders may now be placed in China for the device. There is no news about the Indian availability yet. 

Design 

Design-wise, the Oppo A56 5G appears attractive from the rear side along with a unique camera housing and the device is available with certain attractive colour choices. With a polycarbonate build and a waterdrop notch on the front, the Oppo A56 5G appears to be an entry-level device from the front along with a prominent chin. For biometric authentication, there is a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. 

Display

Coming to the display, the Oppo A56 5G has arrived with a 6.5-inch HD+ display with 720 by 1600 resolution, which has become obsolete nowadays when compared with other devices from the same price range. Although you’ll find multiple devices around this price with a 90Hz refresh rate, Oppo has skipped that as well. Also, the touch sampling rate is 120Hz, which again is a glitch for this device. Apart from this, there is nothing worth mentioning and at the given price, the display becomes a major drawback for this device. 

Performance 

In the performance section, Oppo has tried to make this device 5G compatible and offered the MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset, which is an Octa-Core chipset based on 7nm along with Mali G52 MC2 GPU. The chipset is Dual-Mode 5G enabled. Although it might seem to be meant for gamers, there is only 6GB RAM, which again makes it good for normal gaming only. While as for daily usage, the chipset will do good. Oppo has provided a 5GB RAM extension feature as well, but that doesn’t make it stand out in the crowd. As for the operating system, the device runs on ColorOS 11.1 based on Android 11, which is capable of providing a neat and clean user experience.

Camera 

In the camera section as well, Oppo has disappointed this time. On the rear, there is a 13MP primary sensor along with a 2MP depth sensor when other smartphones from the same price category are offering a 64MP camera setup. Also, when it comes to selfies, there is a poor 8MP sensor provided at the front, which is also outdated when compared with the competition. The camera performance in low light is disappointing. 

Battery 

Here the Oppo A56 brings some sort of relief with the addition of a 5000 mAh battery, which is surely going to provide a decent battery backup, however, the 10W charging speed is unacceptable at this price tag. For the same price point, there are devices offering fast charging around 25W to 33W. For connecting the charger, there is a Type-C charging port.

Verdict 

Given all the specs, the Oppo A56 5G is a flop device. There is nothing good about this device as it comes with a poor display, meagre camera setup and doesn’t feature fast charging features. If you are an Oppo lover, you better go with something else.
