Oppo F3
Oppo F3 is a mid-range selfie giant that offers you quality and consistent social-media image uploads. Priced at Rs. 18,000, this phone tries to retain its ‘selfie experts’ tag with a flagship dual camera set and satisfactory display. Oppo F3 fails to get the edge in performance levels, or include a juicy battery that guarantees longevity. It’s not for power users, but for selfie aficionados, looking for some bang-on-the-buck selfies for their Facebook and Whatsapp statuses.

Light, slim and handy, Oppo F3 is a manageable handset. It’s super easy to use with the small and bright display which shows the right amount of detail. However, the best feature is the rare dual-selfie cameras which are one of the best in the current flagship market.
The dual front camera is a flagship feature, with the primary camera capturing detailed pictures even in low-light, and offering an almost bokeh effect that can make your face pop up. Paired with a wide-angle camera for group selfies, Oppo F3 plans to keep its ‘selfie experts’ tag with this set.
A sharp 5.5-inch display with HD resolution, Oppo F3 is a capable phone that could manage vibrant colours and offers average sunlight legibility. The rounded edges make it comfortable in the hand, and Real Sound Technology audio enhancement makes viewing HD videos a delightful experience.
Oppo F3 does not pack a good amount of power or juice underneath its frame. It is for selfie enthusiasts who do not want to spend a premium for the more superior Oppo F3 Plus.
The OPPO F3 features a 5.5-inch FHD display with Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It also features a 3200 mAh battery with normal charging support. There is a 13MP single rear camera setup and the OPPO F3 offers 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage along with MediaTek MT6750T chipset tickling inside.
Pros
- Gorilla Glass 5 protection
- 4GB RAM + 64GB storage
- Fingerprint sensor
Cons
- Only 3200 mAh battery
- Android V6.0
- Normal charging
- Normal refresh rate

Oppo F3 Price in India
The OPPO F3 smartphone is priced at Rs.17,000 in India. On May 13, 2017, it was officially released in India. The phone comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. When it comes to the device’s colour selections, this smartphone is available in Gold and Rose Gold. The Oppo F3 is right now available for purchase on Flipkart.
Oppo has remained mostly consistent in design with its ‘F’ series. F3 is sleek and light at 153 grams and can be easily held due to its smaller 5.5-inch proportion than Oppo F3 Plus. The polished chamfers along the edges and the matte metal finish is enough to give it an almost premium look. You can find a bit of an iPhone inspiration in the design, but it does not go overboard with it or make it cheeky. The frame is made of plastic except for the back plate which is made of metal. However, the plastic frame makes this phone prone to finger smudges and scuffs, so a case is recommended.
While the 5.5 display of Oppo F3 is smaller than F3 Plus, it makes it more manageable. The 5.5 display comes with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a pixel density of about 401 ppi which is sharp and holds the brightness of the colours. The brightness of the phone is average getting around 449 nits at max which beats the 439 nits of Redmi Note 4. It has good viewing angles, though the sunlight legibility is below par, as per LCD standards. It scores a low 2.376 for sunlight contrast ratio, though it remains a tad bit higher than flagship rival Vivo V5 Plus with a sunlight contrast at 2.371. Colour accuracy is mediocre with a bit of purplish tint on the display. The default screen calibration works well, even giving a blue filter to read at nights. However, if you are not an admirer of the display, you still have to stick to it as Oppo does not offer screen adjustment settings.
Oppo F3 comes with a dated octa-core MediaTek MT6750T which lacks the punch in the competitive flagship market. It can handle multitasking easily but gets warm while playing games for an extended period. Gaming has some noticeable frame drops, as well. Benchmark scores put Oppo F3 at a really low spot of 53,123 points compared to 68,621 points of Redmi Note 4. There can be occasional crashes and slowdowns, especially with the camera app. The dated processor has already been used in much cheaper average-range phone and is not suited for this price range.
Oppo F3 has a rear 13MP camera with Dual PDAF and a f/2.2 aperture. In proper lighting, the focus can be snappy and can capture good details, though the colour reproduction could be brighter. Macro shots are good but not sharp enough and lose definition when you zoom in. Focus starts to lose its speed in low light, losing out on a good amount of detail and sharpness. However, they produce acceptable images.
The real kick is the dual selfie camera from the ‘selfie experts’. The front 16MP primary camera gets detailed images when there is a bright background. The flash helps to reduce visual and is suitable for low-light situations. The primary camera also comes with a blur mode which can give a pseudo-bokeh effect. However, it does not always get the light metering right. The secondary 8MP wide-angle camera is not as good, often losing out on details and introducing barrel distortion. On the whole, Oppo excels in selfie shots.
Oppo F3 has a 3,200mAh non-removable battery which works well and carries more juice than Oppo R9s, but it’s much smaller than F3 Plus’ 4,000 mAh. It can last for a whole day with regular use. A continuous video loop test found it lasts for an impressive 10 hours 33 minutes, though at this price range, more could be easily expected. The device comes with a 10W charger which is quick and can get the phone charged within 2 hours, but not as quick as fast charging. F3 does not support fast charging yet. Neither does it come with Oppo’s unique VOOC parallel charging solution.
Oppo F3 may seem a bit expensive considering the dated processor, mediocre display and not a very juicy battery. However, it has excellent cameras and a good bit of power to run essential apps smoothly and offer moderate gaming experience. As selfie giants, Oppo F3 is a fantastic device to capture your social-media worthy photos at an affordable price range. However, if you want to go for a more power-packed experience, Moto G5 Plus does a good job. A bit of a bump up of the budget can get you Oppo F3 Plus which is an excellent improvement on Oppo F3.
