It’s design is a tweaked version of Redmi Note 9 Pro which means it comes with the similar design where you see a quad-camera set up in a square module at the back. There is a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for smooth operation. It also comes with an all-new touch experience called the Z-Shocker Haptics which changes the way it responds to you. Poco M2 Pro is totally protected by Triple Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for the front, rear and the camera. This device will never let you worry about the liquid splashes with the P2i splash-proof coating.
The smartphone comes in three shades – Out of the Blue, Green and Greener, and Two Shades of Black.
This phone boasts a large 6.67-inch FHD+ IPS LCD display with a 20:9 cinematic screen while everyone might have expected an AMOLED display. Binge-watching is made spectacular with nearly negligible bezels and an in-screen punch-hole camera. Poco M2 Pro enhances the overall user gaming experience with the 120Hz refresh rate ultra-smooth display.
Built on the 8nm fabrication process, this Poco smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G. This is combined with up to 6GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB UFS 2.1 storage for uninterrupted and smooth gaming performance. The internal storage is expandable up to 512GB with a microSD card.
The phone is based on the latest MIUI 11, which is further based on the Android 10 and will soon receive the updates of Android 11. It is almost the same UI as we see in the Xiaomi devices with a few things here and there.
Poco M2 Pro features a 48MP quad-camera in a square module where the four sensors are 48MP primary camera, 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor, 5MP macro lens and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front is a 16MP punch-hole selfie camera. The camera allows you to shoot the pictures in RAW for enhanced photo editing. There is a night mode for selfies as well as Pro Colour Mode for making the overall camera experience.
Poco M2 Pro is aimed to thrill those users who highly prioritize the battery life since it carries a giant 5000 mAh battery capacity. This is supported by a 33W fast charger in the box which is capable of charging the device from 0 to 50% in less than 30 minutes. The brand also reports this smartphone will allow the users to play PubG for 11 hours on a stretch at medium graphics.
Poco M2 Pro is a great smartphone with value for money tag offering a lot more features than its inspiration Redmi Note 9 Pro. The 120Hz display is a boon on this device in this price segment apart from the huge 5000 mAh battery and 33W fast charging. This re-branded version of a Xiaomi device with ‘Make in India’ tag might not be what you were actually expecting from Poco.
