Tecno Camon 30 5G Design And Build
The Tecno Camon 30 5G sports a unique design with a large circular camera module in the top left corner. I have the Basaltic Black of the Tecno Camon 30 5G for review, which has a minimalist look; however, you can opt for the Uyuni Salt White variant if you want others to grab your attention.

The phone’s wavy pattern reminded me of the Samsung Galaxy S21 series. However, its matte texture is slippery, so I highly recommend using the included case.

Speaking of the case, Tecno has bundled a very premium-quality case that maintains the design and offers a good textured grip. I must admit that even some flagship phones don’t provide such a good case in the box, so kudos to Tecno for providing one.I preferred using the Tecno Camon 30 5G with its included case during my review period, as I enjoyed its enhanced overall look and feel.
Coming back to the design, while the phone looks clean, you do get a couple of things on the back apart from the massive camera module. You will first notice the small red LED in the top left corner, which acts as a notification light.

It basically lights up when you receive a new notification, record a video, or charge the phone. This is a great feature for getting alerts even when the phone is lying face down.

In addition, the phone has an LED flash and Tecno branding at the bottom. Regarding ports and placements, the volume rockers and the power button are on the phone’s right side.

The left side houses the SIM tray, while the secondary speaker grille is at the top.

At the bottom, you will find the USB-C port, primary speaker grille, and microphone.
Tecno Camon 30 5G Camera
This is one department where the Tecno Camon 30 5G shines, especially since it’s a camera-centric phone. It has a 50-megapixel primary camera with OIS, a 2-megapixel depth sensor, and a 50-megapixel selfie camera on the front.

During the daytime, the phone takes detailed shots with plenty of detail and accurate colours. I was honestly surprised by the amount of detail and image processing of the device. The colours are consistent, and the details are preserved even when you zoom in.

Furthermore, the phone also takes exceptional portrait mode shots with accurate background blur and depth of field. You can even adjust the intensity of the blur effect from the settings.

However, the lack of an ultrawide-angle sensor is a major disappointment, as phones in this price range easily offer one.

Similarly, in low-light photography, the Camon 30 can take amazing photos with proper exposure and details. However, it can sometimes struggle in scenarios with multiple light sources, resulting in overexposed shots. The details also tend to falter in extremely low-light shots.

Regarding selfies, you get a 50-megapixel front-facing camera that can take good shots with accurate skin tones and details. When it comes to video recording, you can shoot videos at 1440p at 30 FPS from the primary and selfie cameras. However, stabilisation works only at 1080p at 30FPS.
The Tecno Camon 30 5G is an excellent choice if you want a good camera under Rs.25,000. It has a good display, loudspeakers, a premium design, and a bloatware-free software experience. However, you still need to compromise with the average performance and the lack of an ultrawide-angle sensor.
If a good camera is your top priority, you can opt for the Camon 30. However, there are phones in this segment that offer better software, cameras, and performance, such as the OnePlus Nord CE 4 5G and the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion.
