Tecno is a well-known smartphone brand in India where it sells budget-friendly phones with a decent specs sheet on-board. Talking about it, the Tecno Spark Power 2 is being marketed by its excellent battery backup thanks to its 6,000 mAh battery. Plus, it has an Helio P22 chipset along with 4GB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. There’s an average quad-camera setup onboard filled with plenty of features including AR Mode, Bokeh Effect, AI HDR, and others. That’s all in a price tag of just Rs 9,999/- in India.

The Tecno Spark Power 2 is a very basic budget smartphone with very moderate specifications. The smartphone runs on the latest Android software but uses a processor that is less than optimal for gaming. The regular tasks such as browsing the web, chatting on WhatsApp, and more can be easily fulfilled by users but the overall performance of the smartphone will still be affected beyond the basic usage. The camera setup on the smartphone is also very basic and suits well for most users, the 16MP primary camera is not the best in the market but certainly gets the job done. The presence of an ultra-wide lens came as a big shock and is very much appreciated. 

While the performance and the Camera output of the Tecno Spark Power 2 is not something you would want to boast about, the battery is completely different. The Smartphone comes with a massive 6,000mAh battery that is more than capable of delivering an excellent battery backup that could last more than 2 days for certain users. This battery backup is very much appreciated especially for users who do not easily get access to a charging port due to the nature of their work. A single overnight charge with about two days of battery backup is unprecedented and much appreciated especially for users who use their smartphone for navigation in jobs such as Ola, Swiggy, Zomato, and more. 

Tecno Spark Power 2 Price in India

Tecno Spark Power 2 is the latest addition in the Tecno smartphone family and it is a budget phone. The phone has officially launched in India and goes on sale on June 23rd at a price tag of Rs 9,999/- for its 4GB+64GB storage variant.  Tecno Spark Power 2 will be available on Flipkart from midnight onwards on June 23.

About the design, Tecno Spark Power 2 has an extra large-sized tall display along with slim bezels around the edges although the chin is pretty thick. The phone has a glass front, plastic back, and frame construction that goes in-line with the price tag the phone is available at. There’s a quad-camera setup arranged in a rectangular camera bump placed on the top-left section of the back panel while a circular shaped fingerprint scanner sits at the centre of the upper hand of the phone’s back panel with Tecno and other branding and that’s all. You can also find the Google Assistant button handy given on the side. At this price, you can also get the support of dual stereo speakers powered by Dirac. Not to forget to mention the special design of volume key which can be used as a fire key, enhancing your overall gaming experience.

Talking about the Tecno Spark Power 2 display, it sports a giant 7-inch IPS LCD panel with 720×1640 pixels resolution and a 256 PPI density. It has an 90.55% screen-to-body ratio. It has an advertised typical brightness of 480 nits and finally, there’s a rather interesting notch shaped like a diagonal section of a square that houses the front camera. Come to the bezels, there is just a thick chin on the bottom, a waterdrop notch on the top, rest almost an edge to edge display which offers a cinematic viewing experience on this huge display.

Tecno Spark Power 2 is a budget smartphone and no doubt its processor doesn’t say it otherwise. The phone is equipped with a MediaTek Helio P22 12nm SoC clocked at 2.0GHz along with a PowerVR GE8320 GPU and 4GB of RAM. Along with it, you’ll find 64GB of internal storage with eMMC 5.1 that can be further expanded using a dedicated memory card slot. For delivering high gaming performance, the game mode has been highly optimized and you can play the games even in off-screen mode to save on battery.

Tecno Spark Power 2 runs on the latest Android 10-based HIOS 6.1 which is a win-win situation for sure. The device also includes the AR emoji feature to create DIY expressions and stickers.

Talking about the camera setup on the Tecno Spark Power 2, the front has a 16MP primary shooter with an aperture of f/2.0 capable of shooting videos at up to 1080p@30fps. On the back, it sports a 16MP ASI quad-camera. There’s a 16MP primary shooter with f/1.8, 5MP ultrawide sensor with a field of view of 115-degrees, a 2MP macro sensor. Finally, there’s QVGA depth sensor with Quad-LED flash, HDR and panorama and it is capable of shooting videos at FHD resolution. There is a dual flash on the front as well.

You won’t have to worry about the battery backup a lot since Tecno Spark Power 2, as the name suggests, it has a giant 6,000 mAh battery placed in a body with a chassis of just 9.2mm. It is backed with an 18W fast charging tech that is capable of juicing up the battery to half of its capacity in just 60 minutes so you can expect the full capability in just over two hours.

Tecno Spark Power 2 is a powerful smartphone if you are looking for excellent battery life. No doubt it will give you at least two days on a single charge and a moderate usage. The phone lacks a powerful processor and instead, compromises with Helio P22 chipset which is perhaps seen in a lot of budget phones. At the end of the day, the processor won’t fail you on a light to moderate usage and the large display will give you an incredible user experience although it is limited to HD+ resolution.
