Smartphone manufacturer Vivo has made its entry into Europe by launching the latest flagship smartphone Vivo X51 5G. After its launch, it appeared to be a rebranded edition of the Vivo X50 Pro which was launched by Vivo in July in the Indian smartphone market. The Vivo X51 5G is running on Funtouch OS 10 Global and powered by an Octa-core processor. The device is 5G enables and featuring a Gimbal camera. The flagship smartphone from Vivo is priced at Rs. 71,900, featuring 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. Vivo X51 5G will be available for sale from October 29 and comes in Alpha Grey colour. The price seems too high given all the configuration of this smartphone.
Vivo X51 5G is featuring a curved display with AMOLED technology, covering 92% of the area on the front side. The front camera is hardly noticeable and placed under a small punch hole located at upper left corner. There is a thin aluminium frame holding together the two curved glass sides.
On the rear side, Vivo X51 5G comes with a frosted look, that many smartphones from different brands have already featured. Although the rear side is featuring the gimbal hardware along with periscope zoom, the camera setup is not swelling outwards, because the zoom is placed separately and retreating further into the smartphone body. Vivo X51 5G is just 8.04 mm thick, which is fairly impressive and the smartphone is not large, it comes with 158.46 mm length and 72.8mm breadth.
There is an in-display fingerprint scanner and the bottom side is featuring the speaker grille, USB 2.0 charging port and a SIM tray. While as the power button and volume buttons are placed on the left-right side. You will not see the 3.5mm audio jack in Vivo X51 5G. Vivo has managed to design this device exceptionally well. The overall build quality appears very high and robust.
Vivo X51 5G comes with a curved 6.56-inch AMOLED display. The bezels are extremely small and hardly noticeable. The display is blessed with 90Hz refresh rate,10802376 pixels of resolution and 1300nits of peak brightness. The refresh rate should have been 120Hz but due to battery life issues, this feature is omitted by Vivo. Also, the display comes with 61% less harmful blue light and 6000000:1 high contrast. The screen of Vivo X51 5G is HDR10+ compatible, which allows displaying the images and videos as real as possible in greater detail.
Under the hood, Vivo X51 5G is featuring Snapdragon 765G. Although the chipset is not the latest one from Qualcomm, it has been optimized to provide a better gaming experience and it is also indicated by the G suffix in the processor name. The chipset is clubbed with 8GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage. You will not get a separate micro SD card slot for expanding the internal storage. Also, the processor is equipped with a 5G modem for offering speedy connectivity.
Vivo X51 5G is shipped with Android 10 overlaid with company’s interface Funtouch OS. The software appears close to Stock Android and you will be getting regular updates on company products.
This section of Vivo X51 5G is interesting as it features a Quad-camera setup in which there is the most vibrant camera of 2020 and which is a 48MP Sony IMX689 camera included with a Gimbal feature. It comes with an aperture of f/1.6. The other cameras provided in the rear setup are 8MP ultra-wide camera, 13MP portrait camera and another 8MP camera. Also, there is a rear flash mounted with the camera setup on the rear side.
On the front side, Vivo X51 5G is stuffed with a stunning 32MP selfie shooter with an aperture of f/2.45. The front camera is also capable of using the multi-second night mode. Overall, the camera department is excellent and capable of capturing fine quality pictures in both mod-level and good light.
Vivo X51 5G is offering a 4,315 mAh battery for running this smartphone. The battery is of standard capacity and it’s not impressively large, not worryingly small either. It will ensure a backup for a day at least. Also, the battery department has been equipped with a 33W fast charging facility, enabling users to refill 65% of battery in just 30 minutes. Vivo X51 5G does not support Wireless charging.
Vivo X51 5G is a flagship smartphone with an excellent camera setup on both side and a decent battery backup along with stunning design. But the processor is not up to date for this price range also the wireless charging is not available. if it’s ok to ignore the chipset, you can go with this device.
