Micromax Canvas 2 Plus has a capacitive, multi-touch touchscreen display of 5.7 inches with a pixel resolution of 720 x 1440 and a pixel density of 282 PPI. It is an IPS LCD, bezel less display with an aspect ratio of 18: 9. It has a TFT colour display with 16 M colours. The screen is rich in colours, but when the phone is taken out under direct sunlight, or any other bright light, it becomes difficult to read the contents of the screen. It has a display screen which is comfortable in its average features and does not stand out in the price range.
This Micromax model comes with a quad core 1.3 GHz Cortex A53 processor, a Mediatek MT6737T chipset and a Mali T720 MP2 graphics processor. It has a 3 GB RAM with an internal storage of 32 GB which is expandable up to 128 GB through a micro SD card slot. The processor specifications is very average even among budget phones. It runs on the previous Android version 7.0 Nougat and is not upgradeable to the reader Android 9.0 Pie. This phone is in no way suitable for heavy gaming or heavy apps. With multiple apps running in the background, the phone is prone to freezing and it is not suggested that the user switches too frequently between apps. For normal to moderate usage of the basic necessities of a smartphone, the phone’s performance will be decent enough.
This Micromax model has a 13 MP rear camera with a pixel resolution of 4128 x 3096. It comes equipped with an LED flash and has a continuous shooting mode and a high dynamic range mode. It has basic, average smartphone camera features such as digital zoom, auto flash, face detection, touch to focus. The rear camera specifications are nothing notable or impressionable and rather average. This model’s front camera is of 8 MP and has an LED flash. The phone’s camera could have been better rather than being so average.
Canvas 2 Plus comes with a non-removable Li-ion 4000 mAh battery. It does not support quick charging and the phone can be charged through a micro USB wire. The phone’s battery gives a very average performance with moderate usage. With heavy usage, the battery needs to be charged after 8 hours. This model’s battery is not suitable for multitasking, running heavy apps or games.
In this price range of budget phones, Micromax Canvas 2 Plus has features which fail to stand out in any way. It only has the basic, average features with no attempt to improve its specifications. Users have complained of the problems associated with a slow processor with frequent lagging and a frozen screen. Switching between apps frequently may also lead the phone to hang. This model is complacent in its average features and has mediocre battery life, camera features and an average processor. Even as a budget phone, it simply fails to meet the benchmark of a good phone. If you are looking at this price range, there are much better phones on the market.
