Amazon, the e-commerce giant, is gearing up to enter India’s fastest-growing $6-billion quick commerce market. It will join the ranks of Zomato’s Blinkit, Swiggy Instamart, Zepto, Flipkart Minutes, BigBasket, and others. Samir Kumar, Country Manager for Amazon India, confirmed the company’s plans for its rapid delivery service during a press briefing on December 10. The company, which already offers one-day and two-day delivery in various locations, is now preparing to introduce a new 15-minute delivery service called Amazon Tez. Initially, Amazon plans to roll out its rapid delivery service in select locations, mirroring the strategy it adopted for launching its one-day delivery option.

Over time, however, the company aims to rival quick commerce platforms like BlinkIt and Zepto, which promise to deliver a range of products within minutes. Flipkart has recently launched the similar service with the name “Minutes”. Now, Amazon is set to launch its quick commerce pilots in Bengaluru later this month.
Under this service, Amazon Tez will deliver the essentials in just 15 minutes. Moreover, Amazon aims to deliver an extensive range of products at budget-friendly prices, enhanced by strategic integrations of AI to elevate the shopping experience with Tez.
