Apple announced its first wearable, the Vision Pro, earlier this year, and the company plans to start selling it next year. Apple seems to have postponed the launch of the Vision Pro from January to March 2024, according to a new report.
The company showcased the wearable headset last year, marking its foray into the segment. Apple fans will now have to wait longer to get their hands on the $3,499 headset.
Apple Vision Pro Shipment Delayed To March 2024
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is delaying the launch of the Vision Pro, which will arrive in March 2024 instead of January. The launch of the wearable headset is now deferred to sometime in March.
Although Apple provided a timeline of early 2024 instead of a concrete date at the launch event, Gurman claims the software team planned to ship the product in January. This is evident from the latest visionOS beta, which includes tutorial videos and other product-related videos.
Furthermore, the new iOS 17.2 beta also includes features to support the Vision Pro, such as Airplay Receiver and Spatial video for Apple iPhone 15 Pro models. The Vision Pro is now in the final testing stage, and the company is working on shipping the product.
Apple Vision Pro Will Be Exclusively Available On Apple Store And Website
The Apple Vision Pro will start shipping in the US next year, with the launch in other countries likely taking place later. The Cupertino Giant will sell the headset exclusively via Apple retail stores with prior appointment and on the Apple website.
It wants to deliver a personalized experience to customers, which it believes is possible through its own sales channels. The Vision Pro costs $3,499 and will not be available via third-party channels. Furthermore, Apple is also working on the Vision 2 Pro, which will arrive in early 2026 with an improved design and lower cost.
