It appears with interesting updates and new features for ‘Go devices’. Google also announced an important update regarding the same. The Android 13 (Go edition) devices will receive Google Play System updates.

Moreover, with the limited hardware available on entry-level smartphones, it has made released plenty of software updates to happen through the Google Play Store. This is similar to Google’s Pixel-branded smartphones.

How Does The Update work?

Now the support for Google Play System updates on these devices also marks that the devices will remain updated regularly. It no longer will require the need to go through a system update. While this process even takes up additional storage space.

Well, it’s good news for users as they don’t need to wait for larger updates from manufacturers. Now the system components can be updated individually from time to time.

Following the next big addition with Android 13 (Go edition) comes Material You. Google finally brings in some Material You design elements to the Go devices. This is just like the Android 12 and Android 13-powered smartphones. It lets users customise their devices.

The company even commented that the users can customise their phone’s colour scheme to coordinate with their selected wallpaper. There will be four corresponding colour schemes. The users can choose from these colours. It will be applied to the toggles in the notification bar, settings app, keyboard and so on.

Doesn’t it sound great for entry-level smartphones? But we still need to wait for how the design feature would impact minimal hardware requirements for such devices.

Google has even reported that there are 250 million monthly active devices powered by Android Go. The internet company has said that the devices running on Android 13 (Go edition) will be launched in 2023.
