Jio’s First Ever JioBook Launches In India

Reliance Jio finally brings in its first-ever laptop called ‘JioBook’. Moreover, its existence was known at the India Mobile Congress earlier this month. Now it is live on sale. It is available for Indian consumers. Even, can be purchased via Reliance Digital’s website.

Exceptionally, the laptop was on sale immediately after the announcement. It was available only on the Government e-Marketplace (GeM). That too with complete specifications. The laptop was only available for government employees.

JioBook Specifications

The JioBook comes with an 11.6-inch HD display. It has the support of 1366×768 pixels resolution. The new laptop has power from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC. Even paired with Adreno 610 GPU.

It offers 2GB RAM and 32GB eMMC storage. Plus it is expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card. The JioBook has a 5,000mAh battery life. The company says that the laptop will offer over 8 hours of battery life. Even with a single charge. It even has a passive cooling mechanism. That helps with heat dissipation.

Jio’s first-ever laptop will operate on its very own  JioOS. The company, claims that the light weight of the laptop is for superior performance.

Qualcomm powers the computing chip of JioBook. It is based on technology from Arm and the Windows OS maker. Microsoft provides support for applications on the laptop. This laptop will have JioStore pre-loaded. It helps users in downloading and installing third-party applications.

It will offer a 4G SIM card. The other connectivity options include- Bluetooth 5.0, an HDMI mini port, and Wi-Fi. It even offers 1.0W stereo speakers. Plus a 3.5mm audio jack. It comes with a 2-megapixel web camera for video calling.

How To Activate The Inbuilt SIM card?

As per Jio, the users need to visit the nearest Jio Store with ICCID (SIM number). It is for completing the KYC. After which they can choose their preferred data plans. It will activate the inbuilt SIM card. That will enable its usage on the JioBook.

Price And Offers Of New Launch

The new laptop is at a price of Rs. 15,799. It is available on Reliance Digital. Excitingly, it comes with bank offers too. Customers who are planning to buy the laptop can get a 10 per cent instant discount. This offer is valid for users paying through Bank Credit cards. The banks include Axis, Kotak, ICICI, HDFC, AU, INDUSIND, DBS, Yes, and others.

It was available for the resellers at a price of Rs. 19,500. Now, the JioBook has launched in India on Reliance Digital. That too at a considerably lower price. Even the JioBook is a part of a campaign. It is the Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-reliant India) campaign. It is made in India. Plus with the class 1 division.
