Oppo will purportedly reveal its foldable next month. Rumours of an OPPO Foldable phone being in the works have been there for quite some time now. Foldable smartphones are the new big thing when it comes to the premium range of smartphones. Ever since Samsung released their Samsung Galaxy Z Fold series of foldable flagships, they have been in demand more than ever before. Many major brands like Samsung, Xiaomi, Huawei, and Motorola have already entered the foldable smartphone segment.
Earlier this week, key specifications of the Oppo Foldable Phone were spotted online. These specifications suggest that the phone can compete with the likes of the Huawei Mate X2, Galaxy Z Fold3, and Z Flip3 foldable handsets from Samsung. Earlier Digital Chat Station leaked details about the phone’s charging capability. However, Oppo has neither confirmed nor denied these speculations.
Now, famous tipster Bald Panda claims on Weibo that Oppo will launch an in-folding foldable phone next month. The leaker adds that the Oppo foldable phone will be equipped with an 8-inch 120Hz LTPO folding screen. It will also come with a Snapdragon 888 series chipset. Meanwhile, the official launch date of the device still remains to be mystery at the moment. The rumoured specifications suggest us that the foldable phone will feature an inward folding design like the Galaxy Z Fold3.
Oppo Fold: What We Know So Far
Moving to optics, Digital Chat Station reveals that the upcoming Oppo Foldable phone will come with a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 primary sensor. Now, this particular sensor is in quite a few smartphones. These include the OPPO Reno 7, OnePlus Nord 2 and OnePlus 9 Pro. At the front, the tipster reported that the smartphone will sport a 32-megapixel sensor for selfies and video calls.
Digital Chat Station also tips the upcoming OPPO foldable phone to come with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security. Now, this could be because an in-display fingerprint sensor would definitely not be an ideal choice on a foldable flagship device.
