Smartphone makers have been obsessed with wireless charging technology and are working towards new innovations each day. Last year, Apple released MagSafe, their very own magnetic wireless charging. It works as an attachment behind the iPhone where the charging coil is placed. The built-in magnets help the device to charge with 15 W wireless charging. Realme already unveiled its wireless charging setup named, MagDart with 15W and 50W charging speeds in this particular race. Now, Realme backed Oppo, walking in the same footsteps, is about to release MagVOOC charging technology.

Oppo MagVOOC In Works?

The name comes from the amalgamation of Magnetic and VOOC (Voltage Open Loop Multi-step Constant-Current Charging), Oppo’s very own charging technology. Oppo MagVOOC works in the same way as the MagSafe. It attaches itself to the back of the phone. It uses the device’s magnets to wirelessly charge the phone. Oppo has already filed for the trademark of this particular product.

Though the information is very scanty about MagSafe, it might be similar to what Realme offers. MagDart from Realme was launched early this month. It can reportedly charge a 4500 mAh battery up to 20% in just 5 minutes. It takes an hour to charge it up to 100%. The 50 W variant also offers a cooling system aimed at maintaining the temperature of the device.

In terms of arrival, MagVOOC might come in the future flagship Oppo phones. The charging mechanism will use the device’s magnets to wireless charge a smartphone with a coil on the back. It is still under wraps whether the existing wireless charging supported phones like the Oppo Find X3 would be compatible with MagVOOC.
