PayPal has launched PayPal World 2025 in collaboration with some of the world’s leading payment systems and digital wallets. Key partners include NPCI International Payments Limited (UPI) for cross-border payments, Mercado Pago in Latin America, Tenpay Global in China, and Venmo in the United States. PayPal World 2025: How Will It Work?
The newly introduced platform, PayPal World 2025, aims to solve this issue by enabling consumers to use their preferred local payment system or digital wallet, in their currency, for international purchases.
For example, a UPI user in India looking to buy from a U.S. e-commerce site can choose the UPI option at checkout using the PayPal button.

The first phase will emphasize interoperability between PayPal and Venmo. With the launch partners collectively reaching an estimated two billion users globally.
The PayPal World initiative is designed to simplify cross-border transactions and shopping experiences. It will be for both online and in brick-and-mortar stores. Moreover, it will also lay the foundation for future integration with AI-driven commerce agents.
When Will The Rollout Begin?
PayPal World is set to begin its rollout in the fall of 2025. It will initially concentrate on linking partner wallets with PayPal and Venmo. Businesses already accepting PayPal will be able to tap into a vastly expanded customer base of almost two billion users, all without needing further technological upgrades.
