    Redmi K40G In The Works? Tipped to Sport Snapdragon 870 SoC

    Redmi launched its Redmi K40 series in February in China. It launched with three variants during its first launch: Redmi K40, Redmi K40 Pro, and the Redmi K40 Pro+. However, later on, they also launched a gaming variant, the Redmi K40 Gaming Phone in April. Well, it looks like the company is not done adding variants to this series. According to a new report from China, Redmi is planning to launch another smartphone in the lineup, the Redmi K40G.

    Xiaomi has teased the launch of the new Redmi K40 series phone in China. Meanwhile, the company took to Weibo to confirm the launch of its new Redmi K40G. Here is everything we know so far:

    Digital Chat Station, a popular tipster, on Weibo, claimed that Redmi is working on a new smartphone. According to him, it will feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor. It also says that the phone will have a similar set of features as the main phone in the lineup. However, it is unclear as to which smartphone it is referring. We are as of now assuming it to be the Redmi K40 Gaming Phone.

    Meanwhile, Redmi also posted a number of images on Weibo. It talks about the phone Redmi K40G in Chinese. Through translation, apparently, Redmi is organising an event for July 27th at 10:00 AM CST. It will showcase what could be an updated version of the Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition. On the other hand, the tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed the processor details of the Redmi K40G. According to the tipster, Xiaomi’s upcoming Redmi smartphone under the K40 series will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC under the hood.

    However, one of the posters says that this smartphone has the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC. The translation reads Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition. So, we are not sure but we will know more for sure in the coming days.
