vivo has confirmed the launch of its upcoming X500 series in China. The new lineup is set to focus heavily on photography and professional video, with the company already revealing several major imaging upgrades.
The X500 series is expected to include the vivo X500, vivo X500 Pro and vivo X500 Pro Max. The standard X500 has also appeared in multiple certification databases, giving us an early look at some of its features.
vivo X500 Series Launch Date Confirmed For September 21
The vivo X500 series will launch in China on September 21, 2026. Ahead of the launch, vivo has showcased several of its new imaging technologies at the Creator Gala.
The company has confirmed features such as the new BlueImage Light Control 900 sensor, 17-stop dynamic range with TCG-HDR, VCS 4.0 technology and improved stabilisation.
The X500 series will also focus on creators with support for 4K 240fps slow-motion video, 4K 120fps HDR recording and hardware-level 4K 120fps 10-bit Log video.

vivo X500 Camera Features
The standard vivo X500 has been confirmed with a 50-megapixel Sony LYTIA 828 main camera using a 1/1.28-inch sensor. It will also feature a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera and a 64-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with the Sony LYTIA 610 sensor.
vivo is also introducing a new cinematic colour system for more consistent colours across photos and videos. The phones will use ZEISS imaging technologies, including T* coating and APO super-telephoto technology.
Professional Video Features Get A Major Upgrade
For video creators, the X500 series will support 4K 240fps native slow motion and 4K 120fps DCG-HDR. It will also offer 10-bit 4:2:2 encoding and the ACES colour system for professional workflows.
The company has also announced a new 2nm vivo and MediaTek imaging chip designed specifically for professional Log video recording.
With its camera upgrades and creator-focused video features, the vivo X500 series is shaping up to be one of the company's biggest imaging launches of the year.
