Oppo A57 5G Launch in India

The OPPO A57 5G has been unveiled in China, the company’s newest affordable smartphone. Last year’s A56 5G was superseded by this new model. In February, OPPO announced its mid-range Reno 7 series. The Find X5, the company’s 2022 flagship smartphone, was unveiled only this month. The OPPO A57 5G, the company’s newest smartphone, falls into the budget smartphone category. The OPPO A57 5G is available in the following specs, features, and pricing ranges.

Oppo A57 5G Price in India

The Oppo A57 5G is priced at CNY 1,499 (approximately Rs. 17,900) for the 8GB + 128GB storage configuration. However, the price of the 6GB + 128GB configuration has not been disclosed. The phone is available in three colour options: black, blue, and lilac. Pre-orders for the Oppo A57 5G are now open in China, with shipments scheduled to begin on April 15. The Oppo A57 5G’s availability and price in areas other than China have not yet been confirmed.

Oppo A57 5G Design

Design-wise, the Oppo A57 5G appears attractive from the rear side along with a unique camera housing and the device is available with certain attractive colour choices. With a polycarbonate build and a waterdrop notch on the front, the Oppo A57 5G appears to be an entry-level device from the front along with a prominent chin. For biometric authentication, there is a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

Oppo A57 5G Display

The phone has a 6.56-inch liquid crystal display with a waterdrop notch. The screen is HD+ with a resolution of 1,612 x 720 pixels. The positive aspect is that the display refreshes at a rate of 90 Hz. That may not seem significant in 2022, but phones with 60 Hz displays are still being launched, particularly in the affordable category. Additionally, the display has a wide colour gamut, with about 100% sRGB coverage in Natural mode and 100% DCI-P3 coverage in Vivid mode. At 480 nits of usual brightness, the brightness remains constant.

Oppo A57 5G Performance

The Oppo A57 5G has the MediaTek Dimensity 810 SoC, which succeeds the MediaTek Dimensity 700. It has faster clock speeds and a more economical 6 nm fabrication. The phone comes with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage in its basic configuration. There is, however, an option with 8 GB of RAM. It’s surprising to see Oppo providing large RAM capacities while many firms continue to provide basic models with 4 GB of RAM. It comes with 128GB of inbuilt UFS 2.2 storage. Additional storage may be added through a microSD card.

Dual-SIM compatibility, 5G, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and a 3.5mm headphone jack are among the connectivity features. The smartphone comes with ColorOS 12.1, an Android 12-based operating system.

Oppo A57 5G Camera

In terms of optics, the handset has remained mostly unchanged. The Oppo A57 5G has a straightforward camera configuration on the rear, featuring a 13 MP primary camera with an f/2.2 aperture. Additionally, there is a 2 MP depth sensor to assist with portrait pictures. The notch houses the 8 MP front-facing camera with an f/2.0 aperture. The video recording is limited to 1080p at 30 frames per second.

Oppo A57 5G Battery

It is powered by a 5,000mAh battery. However, charging is limited to 10 W, which is much less than the standard today. The phone is equipped with dual speakers, USB Type-C connectivity, and a 3.5 mm headphone port.

Oppo A57 5G Verdict

The OPPO A57 5G has a stylish design and is available in stunning colours like Lilac Language, Deep Sea Blue, and Night Black. Inside too, there is a MediaTek Dimensity 810 CPU and 8GB LPDDR4X RAM, which significantly enhance the smartphone’s performance. Additionally, it provides customers with enough storage and long battery life. However, there is no quick charging and the camera section needs improvement.
