Keeping the performance top-notch and the phone attractive, the Samsung Note 10 turns out to be a premium phone that is worth looking into. It has a great performance, amazing cameras and bring some slight modifications to the S-Pen too, making an overall improved experience that the audience desires from a new phone.
One of the major design changes that the Samsung Galaxy S10 brought was the punch-hole camera. The punch hole has the selfie camera present in it. The same design feature has been used in Note 10 – you get a huge screen which provides an immersive display with only a bit of distraction due to the punch hole. It is smaller than the Note 9, measuring around 72 x 151 x 7.9mm but along with that, it is quite light as well, rounding off at 168g. Due to presence of the S Pen Stylus, the phone is no longer kept large but made suitable for smaller hands. The only problem with the phone is that it drops the 3.5mm headphone jack. You have a USB Type-C port at the bottom though. The S-Pen slot sits at the right and it does not affect the style of the phone. It is a metal and glass design which keeps it premium. The volume rocker and the power button is at the left side edge. There is no Bixby button but if you want it, you have to press the power button for a few seconds – an efficient solution.
The Note 10 arrives with a 6.3-inch AMOLED screen which provides a FullHD display and has a resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels. Plus, it gets you a sizable amount of 401 pixels per inch. The phone also has HDR 10+ technology though it is strange that Samsung did not go for QHD display with this phone. In natural sunlight, the display was quite strong and it remained vibrant indoors as well. So, overall, the phone display remains a marvellous point. However, the camera punch-hole can seem intrusive for some.
The phone comes with the new Exynos 9825 chipset. It is a small chipset but keeps the phone efficient. It has an amazing cooling mechanism as well so that intensive gaming does not warm up the phone to a great degree. The phone comes with 8GB RAM so multitasking will be quite fast and there will be no lags. Even gaming will remain top-notch. You can play PUBG on this phone without facing any lags. Bad news is that this phone does not support 5G – for that, you require the 5G version of Galaxy Note 10 Plus.
The Galaxy Note 10’s camera is not a great upgrade if you have used the S10 cameras. The phone comes with 16MP ultra-wide lens, a 12MP primary lens and a 12MP telephoto lens. However, the photos turn out to be brilliant and almost at par with the recent Samsung phones. Video recording has improved. The image stabilization is great and there is also a feature called Live Focus Video. This allows you to capture bokeh effects which can be seen in portraits modes in videos. The subjects pop out well and you can also make the background black and while while keeps the subject colourful – another portrait effect in video. Note 10 uses DepthVision lens to do this magic. The photo experience with the Note 10 is truly brilliant.
The front camera is a 10MP sensor and can click decent photos which is suitable for good selfies.
Samsung comes with a 3,500 mAh battery. It is a decent battery and it keeps its strength with moderate use. It can last for an entire day with light to moderate use. Plus, it has wireless charging as well. The phone also has Samsung Wireless PowerShare to charge other compatible devices like smartwatches, and other phones. Plus, it comes with fast charging so you can get a decent charge to keep the phone chugging with just half an hour of charging.
Samsung tries to go for a smaller Note phone with the Note 10 and it seems to be going in for a success. It has an amazing build and despite not having a major upgradation of cameras, it delivers marvellous shots. The phone has a premium performance with the top-end processor which can keep the phone a step ahead in its competition. If you are looking for a Stylus-activated phone than Samsung Galaxy Note 10 can be one of you top choices.
