Apple’s much-awaited iPhone 12 series has finally gone official. Unlike its predecessor, the new lineup is composed of basically four variants with three different sizes. We’re looking at iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and the beast of them all, iPhone 12 Pro Max. You will be able to pre-book all the four devices from October 16. With that said, let’s dive deep into the Pro version of the device.
Apple iPhone 12 Pro Price in India
The all-new iPhone 12 Pro starts at a price of $999 and goes up to an eye-watering price of $1299. Of course, that will depend on the storage variant that you are going with. iPhone 12 Pro Price in India starts at a whopping Rs. 1,19,900 for the base variant while the 256GB storage variant will cost Rs. 1,29,900. It is worth noting that there is no 64GB storage variant of the device. The base variant will pack 128GB built-in storage while the high-end variant boasts a storage unit of 512GB with a 256GB variant option in between.
When it comes to design, the new iPhone 12 series are quite similar to the recently launched iPad devices. Sadly, there is still a notch on this device although it is a bit on a smaller side when compared with the predecessor. We’re also looking at a bigger real-estate thanks to the smaller notch. The new design offers squared-off flat sides straight from the iPad Pro. Alongside this, we’re also looking at a premium in-hand feel that will make you go woo.
Apple iPhone 12 Pro has a spacious 6.1-inch display with an OLED panel. This means we’re now looking at richer colours and deeper blacks compared with the predecessor. The new Super Retina XDR panels offer a 2 million-to-1 contrast ratio and immersive HDR viewing experience. With iPhone 12 Pro, Apple still failed to incorporate the high 120hz refresh rate and chose 5G to include instead. This means that you will now experience smooth scrolling along with better user experience.
What makes the iPhone 12 pro special this year is the new A14 Bionic chipset with the 5nm node technology. This gives a huge advantage to the iPhone 12 Pro over the Android counterparts. Apple also claims that it can go even deadlocked with some computer CPUs. The new chipset will give a seamless performance blended with the harmonious iOS 14 environment.
Apart from the processor, the 5G support to the iPhone 12 Pro makes it a bit more interesting. The only letdown is that the Cupertino-based brand is region locking the 5G feature. Furthermore, only the US users of the iPhone12 Pro will get the millimetre waves in 5G. We might see the brand expanding the same to other regions with a software update.
As far as the camera is concerned, Apple iPhone 12 Pro is packed with a triple camera array on the rear. The sensors don’t vary much from the last year’s offering. On the front, we’re looking at a 13MP front snapper taking care of your selfie and video calling needs. The remarkable upgrade is the telephoto lens with 4x optical zoom and a LIDAR sensor. Thanks to LIDAR technology, portrait mode, and the night mode will see some significant improvement. We should see more important depth information and this makes it a significant upgrade in the camera department. The device comes with Smart HDR 3 that uses ML to tweak white balance, contrast, texture and more on its own.
The iPhone 12 Pro variant comes with a marginally small battery i.e. 2,775mAh capacity than its bigger brother. As expected, you will not be getting a charger brick inside the box, though a charging cable will still be there. Apart from this, there is fast wireless charging support so that’s something to consider as well.
Apple iPhone 12 Pro brings a thoughtful upgrade when compared with the predecessor. With the new offering, Apple makes up for all the features that were lacking in its last year’s devices. You can say that we’re looking at a combined sequel offering the best features in terms of the design and technology from all the previous lineups of the iPhone. However, the removal of charging brick from the in-box content is a bit disappointing especially considering we’re looking at a premium price. Even the missing 120Hz refresh rate on the display might not interest a lot of people. This might be a deal-breaker for someone who is trying to get themselves into the iOS ecosystem.
