1. Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3

The Hexagon NPU, Qualcomm’s updated AI engine, offers double the performance growth compared to the last-gen chipset and 40 per cent more performance per watt, making it ideal for powering AI models. Because of this improvement, the chipset no longer requires cloud inferencing; it can run LLM models with up to 20 tokens per second and up to 10 billion parameters on-device. That being said, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is the latest and the snapdragon processor available in India.

Qualcomm unveiled the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 last year. Improving processing power, connectivity, and user experience are the goals of this high-end mobile platform processor. Devices powered by Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 are expected to be 15% faster than last-gen Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2. While GPU performance might be up to 45% better. With a clock speed comparable to that of the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the 7+ Gen 3 provides performance on par with high-end CPUs. The chip’s design uses a “1+4+3” core arrangement, similar to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. There are three A520 efficiency cores clocked at 1.9GHz and four A720 midrange cores running at 2.6GHz.With an Adreno 732 GPU, the result is better graphics performance.
