I’m here to give you my long-term review of the Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus, which I’ve been using for almost 20 days. As you know, the Samsung Galaxy S24 series was launched last year, but many are thinking of buying the S24 Plus in 2025.

At this time, Flipkart and Amazon are offering sales with excellent discounts. Similarly, after a few months, Flipkart’s Big Billion Sale and Amazon’s Great Indian Sale will be available with huge discounts. So, choosing the Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus over the latest launch phone will be a big question for you.

This phone features a 6.7-inch dynamic LTPO AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Additionally, it comes with a Qualcomm SM8650-AC Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 (4 nm) processor for the USA, Canada, and China. In contrast, I was using an Exynos 2400 (4 nm) processor, which is commonly found in International models. This phone has a 50MP wide, 10MP telephoto, and 12MP ultrawide rear camera, and a 12MP front camera. Users get a 4900mAh battery with 45W wired and 15W wireless charging support.

These features make it a strong contender in 2025. I reviewed every aspect of the phone. Read my Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus long-term review to decide whether you should buy this phone in 2025 or not.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus Design and Build

For the last 20 days, I’ve been using the Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus, and I would say that its design is simple yet refined. Samsung is recognised for flat-framed, refined design with rounded corners. It has an aluminium frame as well as Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the front and back, making it very solid.

Furthermore, the Onyx Black variant complements the phone’s design as it does not attract too many fingerprints. Its aluminium frame gives durability against accidental falls. I personally felt amazing during its use.

    side design

This phone weighs 199 grams, which users do not feel weighed down by at all, especially with the matte Onyx Black backed variant. Its in-hand feel is premium, and the grip is also perfect, as it will not slip from your hand easily.

    Bottom

Surprisingly, it does not take scratches or scuffs easily, which means you can use it without a case. The IP68 rating also ensures that the phone is resistant to splashes of water and rain. I can confidently say that the Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus was designed with precision and is still the best choice in 2025.

    Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus Camera

The Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus features a 50MP main camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, creating a triple rear camera system. I have been taking pictures for about 20 days now, and the results have been consistently good, particularly in diverse conditions such as daylight, indoors, and low-light.

    Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus camera

Samsung still offers picture enhancements when their phones shoot photos, and these come combined with sharpness and vibrant colours, which have come a long way over the years. In the Samsung Galaxy S25 series, Samsung has resolved the oversaturation issues it was experiencing.

The ultrawide lens captures a wide angle without much distortion, and the zoom lens also comes in handy during travels for a 3x zoom.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus camera sample

I had pleasing background blur and edge detection, while retaining good details is vital for portraits and telephotos, and Samsung has nailed them. Furthermore, skin tones are smooth but look realistic, which is a required trait in good photography.

    Portrait mode sample

Galaxy S24’s telephoto lens performs decent in low-light settings. However, some grain is bound to show when the lighting gets extremely dim.

In terms of the front camera, it features a 12MP sensor, offering the best selfies with good detail and decent skin tone accuracy. However, portrait selfies taken with this camera have dramatic and lacklustre edge detection, particularly in poorly lit settings.

The stabilisation offered by the Samsung Galaxy S24 is one of the best in the smartphone industry. Voice pickup is also clearly captured by the mic, which can be heard even in busy places. Overall, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus long-term review is excellent in camera performance compared to several new devices, including the Vivo V50, iQOO 13, and Nothing Phone 3a Pro.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus Battery and Charging

The Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus packs a 4900mAh battery, and after 20 days of regular use, I’d say it comfortably lasts a full day on a single charge. My usage includes four to five hours of screen time daily, social media, camera use, watching movies, and some gaming, and I usually end the day with 15–20 per cent battery left.

    Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus battery

It supports 45W wired fast charging and 15W wireless charging. With the 45W adapter (sold separately), I got around 60–65 per cent charge in 30 minutes and a full charge in under an hour. It’s not the fastest in the Android world, but it’s reliable.

There’s also Wireless PowerShare, which I’ve used to top up my Earbuds and smartwatch on the go. The phone handles background battery management pretty well, and I’ve noticed no significant idle drain overnight. Plus, the adaptive battery setting helps optimise based on usage.

Overall, battery life is dependable, and charging speed is decent if you’re using Samsung’s own charger.

    Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus Display

Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus houses one of the best displays I’ve seen in this segment. It features a 6.7-inch Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2X display, categorised as LPC205, CAF. Notably, Samsung has enhanced the eyesight in the Plus variant, and the sharpness is indeed noticeable.

    Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus display

It features a 120Hz refresh rate and feels smooth while using apps or engaging in light gaming. The colours are vivid, blacks are deep, and a peak brightness of 2600 nits enhances sunlight legibility. I used it in direct sunlight, and I was able to see everything clearly.

    Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus display

This phone supports HDR10+ too, so you get seamless streams from Netflix and YouTube, even when the content is faded. Samsung gives you control to switch between vivid and natural colour modes, which is excellent for enjoying content on your device.

These are my personal comments and thoughts for the Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus long-term review. This will guide people who are interested in buying S24 Plus in 2025.

    Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus Performance

The Samsung S24 Plus is powered by Exynos 2400 in India. It had me worried in the beginning, but after more than 20 days of use, I can confidently say that there haven’t been any reasonable performance concerns.

Even with 10-15 apps running in the background, video editing on CapCut, or playing Asphalt and also BGMI, the phone functions perfectly. I’ve conducted a few HDR sessions, and the gameplay was stable with very little heating, which is a good sign, unlike the older Exynos models.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus gaming ability

It comes with 12GB RAM and UFS 4.0 storage, offering quick app loading and seamless multitasking. During extensive camera use and intense gaming, the smartphone does warm up slightly, but never to a point of discomfort. The Exynos 2400 proves to be much more dependable this time around.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus benchmark result

I ran several performance tests on the Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus to conduct a long-term review. Its Geekbench scores are 2069 in single-core and 6556 in multi-core. The maximum CPU throttling test result is 69 per cent. Moreover, its Antutu score is 1668723. The 3DMark Wild Life Extreme Stress Test for stability has an overall score of 56.4 per cent.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus Software and UI

The Samsung S24 Plus is equipped with One UI 6.1 based on Android 14. But you can update it to Android 15 and One UI 7. What makes this phone ‘future-ready’ is its 7 years of software updates promise, which is the same as what Google offers on the Pixel 8 Pro. That’s quite a plus if you plan to keep your phone for an extended period.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus Android 14

The UI looks and feels clean and offers a lot of personalisation options. I have my theme, icon style, and layout set. Samsung polish shows on the smoothness of the animations, and the phone’s performance. It comes with only a minimal set of bloatware, including Netflix, Microsoft apps, and Samsung Free.

    UI

Galaxy AI is a new addition. Some of the features, such as Circle to Search and Live Translate, work particularly well. I’ve also tried out the transcription feature in Notes; it works well in quiet settings.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus AI features

One UI 6.1’s core performance has been excellent. Samsung’s new AI tools do seem helpful and add to the experience, rather than feeling bolted on at the last minute.

    Verdict

My experience with the Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus over the last 20 days indicates that it provides a dependable flagship experience. It boasts flat, modern, and premium design, and the display is among the brightest and sharpest screens in its class.

The overall performance is smooth, the daily usage experience is seamless, and the camera system is perfect. Samsung’s promise of seven years of updates makes for a future-proof investment. But it does warm up during heavy use.

For alternatives around the same price, I would suggest checking out the Google Pixel Pro 8 for a stock Android and AI-driven experience, which I reviewed recently. Or the iPhone 15 if you’re more inclined towards Apple products, which I’ve been using for the last year.

Gamers may consider the OnePlus 12 for its Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip and faster charging, which I also reviewed last month. After the Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus long-term review, I can say it remains one of the most balanced devices as an all-rounder for most users in 2025.
