  • Review Summary

I’ve been using the Vivo T4 Ultra for a long time, and now it’s time to give a review to all Cashify readers, asking whether they should buy it or not. Last year, I also reviewed the Vivo T3 Ultra, so I’ll try to provide a brief comparison with its older model and highlight how much this phone’s specifications have been upgraded.

The Vivo T4 Ultra features a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Moreover, it features a MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ (4 nm) chipset and runs on Android 15, based on Funtouch OS 15. This phone also has a 50MP + 50MP + 8MP rear camera with 100X zoom capability. There is also a 32MP front camera. Users also get a 5,500mAh battery with 90W fast charging support.

After considering all these features, several questions arise: Does the phone offer the best camera results? Will the battery last long on a single charge? How is the phone’s design finish? Now I’m here with Vivo T4 Ultra detailed review after analysing every segment, let’s read:

Vivo T4 Ultra Design and Build

The Vivo T4 Ultra features a beautiful design with a glossy finish on the back. I’m using Phoenix Gold colour, which has a flowery texture on the back. I posted it on social media most people liked the new Vivo design. This phone has a design almost identical to the Vivo T3 Ultra.

    Vivo T4 Ultra design

This phone features a quad curved design with perfectly fine edges. Additionally, I found it a bit slippery in the hand; keeping it in a cover would be a better option. Furthermore, its back does attract fingerprint stains. Vivo is using the same camera design from the last few phones, like Vivo T3 Ultra, Vivo 50 series, and Vivo V40 series. But there is no question about proper finishing.

    side design

The Vivo T4 Ultra features a power button and a volume button on its right side, while the left side is devoid of any buttons.

    top of the phone

At the top of the phone, users will find a secondary speaker and a microphone. The bottom of the phone includes a SIM tray, a microphone, a Type-C port, and a speaker.

    bottom of the phone

This phone has a body dimension of 160.6 x 75 x 7.5 mm and weighs 192 grams, which is almost the same as its predecessor. It features an IP64 dust-tight and water-resistant design, so it can resist water splashes. As usual, you can insert two nano-sized SIMs at the same time. Overall, the Vivo T4 Ultra design review is excellent.

    Vivo T4 Ultra Camera

The camera of the Vivo T4 Ultra is its speciality. First of all, you get a 50-megapixel primary camera, which features Sony’s custom-designed IMX 921 bionic sensor, paired with an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera. Below you will see a dedicated 50MP periscope telephoto Sony IMX882 lens. There is no doubt about the picture results.

    Vivo T4 Ultra camera

Look at the image colour; Vivo is currently on top, with no competition. I must say that the quality of the images is also outstanding; even when zoomed in, there is minimal pixelation, and the quality is maintained.

Moreover, I also clicked some portrait shots where the background bokeh was creamy, and you can see the edge detection is also coming out quite well.

There is no ZEISS branding in it; otherwise, the camera is a complete competitor, to be honest. Additionally, this means you will not get ZEISS portrait modes, but there are some portrait modes and inbuilt filters available.

Still, their wide-angle shots come out like this. Yes, you will notice a slight quality loss in wide-angle pictures compared to those taken with the primary camera, but the image is still decent.

The main thing about this camera is that I have taken some samples using its telephoto lens by zooming in on different focal lengths.

You can see them, and you will notice that even at up to 10x, the quality of the camera and the images remains the same. Yes, you can zoom in on it up to 100x, but the image quality will deteriorate.

On the front, you get a 32-megapixel selfie camera, which takes regular selfies. I took some standard camera shots, and in addition, I also took some portrait selfies. You can see the image results.

Vivo T4 Ultra front camera sample

Big thumbs up from me in terms of the camera, because I’m realising that this was meant to be a Vivo V50, so you get a camera of the same level. This is because I’m using the Vivo V50 Elite Edition for review.

In terms of video recording, the Vivo T4 Ultra supports 4K video recording at 30fps with both the rear and front cameras. I also recorded some videos, and the audio pickup was nice.

I wish I could include some video samples here as well. If you’d like, please comment below, and I’ll add a drive link.

Vivo T4 Ultra Battery and Charging

Vivo T4 Ultra has a 5500mAh battery capacity, which is relatively low compared to Vivo T4. As you know, brands are currently heading towards larger batteries. Just a few days ago, Poco launched the Poco F7 with a 7550mAh battery in a similar price range.

    Vivo T4 Ultra battery

Overall, the battery life is fantastic, as I managed to get nearly a full day of use, which included playing games and watching Panchayat S4 on this phone. Additionally, it comes with a 90W fast charger, and Vivo claims it can be fully charged in 48 minutes.

    90W charger

To verify this, I charged the phone from 0 to 100 per cent, and it took just 52 minutes to reach a full charge, which is very close to their promise.

The Vivo T4 Ultra also features reverse charging, allowing you to charge your earbuds and smartwatches. But there is no wireless charging.

    Vivo T4 Ultra Display

The Vivo T4 Ultra features a 6.67-inch display with a resolution of 1260 x 2800 pixels and a 460 PPI density. It features 1600 nits (HBM) and 5000 nits (peak) brightness, enabling you to use it in direct sunlight. I also used it during the day, which was fine and perfectly visible. You can also set auto brightness, which adjusts according to the surrounding lights.

    Vivo T4 Ultra display

This phone also features a 120Hz refresh rate, enabling smooth operation. You can also change it from setting to smart switch, standard or high. A smart switch automatically changes according to the required refresh rate. During standard mode, it will be stuck at a 60Hz refresh rate, while high is for a 120Hz refresh rate.

    Display refresh rate

One of the best features for all YouTube or Netflix users is called visual enhancement. In this mode, enhance the colour and contrast of images for a more vivid display. Please note that using this feature will increase power consumption.

    brightness

While there are some usual features like eye protection and dark mode, overall Vivo T4 Ultra display review is good.

    Vivo T4 Ultra Performance

The Vivo T4 Ultra features a MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ (4 nm) chipset, offering excellent performance. Moreover, it comes in three types of storage and RAM combination, such as 256GB storage with 8GB RAM, 256GB storage with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage with 12GB RAM, which I’m using for review. This phone has a UFS 3.1 type storage, which can be at least UFS 4.0 considering its price.

    Vivo T4 Ultra benchmark results

I did several Benchmark tests on the Vivo T4 Ultra to check its accurate performance in different aspects. Its Geekbench CPU scores are 1383 in single-core and 5316 in multi-core. The maximum in the CPU throttling test is 75 per cent. Moreover, its Antutu score is 1393573. The 3D Mark Wildlife Extreme Stress Test for stability has an overall score of 63.6 per cent.

    Vivo T4 Ultra gaming ability

When it comes to gaming, the Vivo T4 Ultra is not specifically designed as a gaming device, but it does provide a satisfactory gaming experience without generating excessive heat. I played BGMI for almost three continuous hours over the weekend, and while the device became slightly warm, it did not reach the extreme temperature of 51 degrees Celsius that I experienced with the Realme GT 7 during gaming.

Vivo T4 Ultra Software and UI

Vivo T4 Ultra runs on Android 15, based on Funtouch OS 15. It will get three years of Android OS updates and four years of security patches. However, Funtouch OS 15 still has less bloatware as compared to older models, which I think should be removed.

    Vivo T4 Ultra softwareAndroid 15

Users get unnecessary apps pre-installed, like games, Snapchat, and apps including Mesho, Fruit Ninja, etc. So, you can uninstall; otherwise, it can slow down your phone day by day.

    Vivo T4 Ultra display UI

Overall UI is clean and smooth, icons are a little bit small as compared to HyperOS 2 or iOS 18, etc UI. The Vivo T4 Ultra features numerous helpful functions that utilise artificial intelligence (AI). These include AI Erase 2.0, which helps remove unwanted objects from photos; AI Enhance, which improves the quality of images; and Smart Circle for editing pictures.

    UI UI

It also features tools such as AI Note Assist for taking notes, AI Transcript Assist for converting speech into text, and AI Call Translation for real-time conversation translation. Additionally, it includes Google’s Circle to Search, which makes it easier to find information. These features work together to make everyday tasks simpler and more convenient. Overall, Vivo T4 Ultra UI reviews are excellent.

    Verdict

The Vivo T4 Ultra 5G is a feature-packed upper mid-range phone that excels in every segment, including camera, performance, and design. With its Dimensity 9300+ chipset, crisp AMOLED display, and flagship-like camera setup, it bridges the gap between the V-series and T-series. The phone excels at photography, producing detailed portraits, impressive zoom capabilities, and 4K video support. While the lack of ZEISS branding may raise eyebrows, real-world results are impressive nonetheless.

Battery life is solid, complemented by fast 90W charging. However, the absence of wireless charging and a slightly slippery build are minor compromises. The software experience is largely smooth, enhanced by new AI features and long-term update support. If you’re looking for a powerful camera phone under ₹40,000, the Vivo T4 Ultra is worth considering. But you can also see some phones in the same price range, such as iQOO Neo 10Motorola Edge 60 Pro,  Xiaomi 14 Civi,  Samsung Galaxy S24 FE, etc. I hope you liked my Vivo T4 Ultra review.
