Redmi 9 Prime comes in in 64 GB + 4 GB RAM and 128 GB + 4 GB RAM storage variants. On the other hand Redmi Y2 to comes in 64GB + 4GB RAM and 32GB + 3GB RAM storage variants. Both the smartphones come with expandable storage, Redmi 9 Prime allows expandable storage up to 512 GB and Redmi Y2 allows expandable storage up to 256 GB.
The battery capacity and type of both smartphones are very different from each other. Xiaomi Redmi Y2 comes with a battery capacity of only 3080mAh however the Redmi 9 Prime comes with a battery capacity of 5020mAh. Redmi 9 Prime comes with fast charging support of 18 watts and a USB Type-C charging port. On the other hand, Redmi Y2 does not support such a feature. Redmi 9 Prime has a lithium-ion battery and Xiaomi Redmi Y2 has a Lithium polymer battery.

Redmi 9 Prime and Redmi Y2 come with a single camera on the front. Redmi 9 Prime comes with an 8-megapixel camera sensor as Redmi Y2 comes with a 16-megapixel camera sensor on the front.
