    Google unveiled the Pixel 5 via the Launch Night In virtual event. The Google Pixel 4a was also announced earlier this year and we decided to make a detailed comparison between the two.

    Google Pixel 4a Vs Google Pixel 5: Display And Design

    The Google Pixel 5 features a 6-inch Full HD OLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. On the other hand, the Pixel 4a comes with a 5.8-inch Full HD OLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection as well. Moreover, the Google Pixel 5 comes with a 90Hz refresh rate. The Pixel 4a on the other hand comes with the standard 60Hz refresh rate. The 90Hz refresh rate on the Pixel 5 is definitely amazing for gaming, browsing and media viewing experience.

    Additionally, both the smartphones come with a rear fingerprint scanner. When it comes to the design elements of the two devices, the Pixel 5 has a 100 per cent recycled aluminium enclosure. On the other hand, the Google Pixel 4a comes with a matte plastic back finish. Pixel 4a is available in only black colour but the Pixel 5 is available in an additional mint, white and blue colours. Also, the Pixel 5 is water-resistant.

    The Google Pixel 5 is powered by the Snapdragon 765G SoC. On the other hand, the Pixel 4a came with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G processor. Furthermore, the 765G SoC on the Pixel 5 is paired with the Adreno 620 as opposed to the Adreno 618 on the Pixel 4a.

    This definitely indicates that users will experience a much better performance on the Pixel 5. The 765G SoC is also a very power efficient processor which will allow users to get decently long gaming sessions on a single charge.

    The Google Pixel 5 features a rear dual camera setup. Additionally, the setup includes a 12.2-megapixel primary sensor alongside a 16-megapixel ultra-wide sensor. On the other hand, the Pixel 4a had a single 12.2MP camera setup. Furthermore, both the smartphones come with an 8-megapixel sensor on the front for selfies and video calls. Moreover, this selfie shooter is housed within a punch-hole design.

    When it comes to the battery capacity, the Pixel 5 packs a decent 4000mAh battery along with 18W fast charging support. Moreover, we can also see wireless charging and reverse charging support on the Pixel 5. On the other hand, the Pixel 4a had a 3,140 mAh battery along with 18W fast charging support.

    Price And Availability

    The Google Pixel 5 price has been set at $699 which is approximately Rs. 51,433. Furthermore, this is the price for the 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage variant. On the other hand, the Pixel 4a was priced at $349 which is roughly Rs. 25,673.

    The Pixel smartphones are yet to hit the Indian markets. However, the Pixel 4a is all set to launch in India on October 17 and will be available for purchase via Flipkart.

    The Google Pixel 5 is the obvious winner here, going by the overall features and specifications. However, the Google Pixel 4a is also a great value for money device and we cannot wait for both these devices to hit the Indian markets soon.
