How to activate your UAN?

1. Visit the unified portal of EPFO using the link given here.
2. Once the login screen appears on the member portal, click on the “Online Aadhaar verified UAN Allotment” link.
3. Now the screen will ask you to enter your Aadhar number and click on “Generate OTP.” You will get the OTP on your registered mobile number.
4. Once you enter the OTP, accept the disclaimer by clicking on the “Submit” button in the box to proceed further.
5. The screen will now show you all the basic details available against your Aadhaar. You can verify all the details and enter the required data in the mandatory fields shown.
6. You then have to click on the register button after entering the captcha and selecting the box in the disclaimer section.
7. Once you click the “Register” button, UAN will be allotted and displayed as a message.

UAN helps the employees to view all the member IDs linked with it. If a member has already allotted a UAN, then it is required for him/her to provide the same on joining the new employer to mark the new allotted member ID number to the already allotted UAN. It is required for the employees to provide the UAN number of the former organization to the new employer.
