The Apple iPhone 16 design is something we need to talk about right now as we have so many leaks and have seen prototypes of the model some time back. Many people are anticipating the additional buttons and also curious about the appearance and in-hand feel. You know, Apple does take care of the tiniest of things. And the best part is that it is manufactured in India itself!

So, today, in this blog, we have listed all our findings, which are mostly focused on the build, design, and aesthetics of the Apple iPhone 16.

Understanding The Apple iPhone 16 Design & Built

iPhone 16 design

Apple iPhone 16 is made from Aerospace grade Aluminium with 85 per cent recycled content. This marks an initiative by Apple to turn carbon neutral by 2030.

Here are some design factors and physical aspects we have shared for the upcoming Apple iPhone 16 to better judge it’s aesthetics and user experience.

Dimensions And Screen

The Apple iPhone 16 screen size has not changed. It remains 6.1 inches big, like the Apple iPhone 15. However, the dimensions of the Apple iPhone 16 Pro and Apple iPhone Pro Max have changed, and they will increase to screen sizes of 6.3 and 6.9 inches, respectively.

The screen has glass ceramic shield of generation 2 which is at least 50 per cent tougher than the first generation shield we have seen in Apple iPhone 15.

Slim Bezels

The bezels are super slim this time. Reports cite these as the thinnest bezels ever on any smartphone. This allows better immersion into the screens. So expect the Apple iPhone 16 to look less bulky and also take up slightly less space in your hand.

Camera Placement

This has been the much talked about iPhone 16 design change so far. The dual set up camera at the back are going to be of vertical alignment, ditching the older horizontal alignment. This is essentially to make the base variants capable of playing spatial videos which was earlier only possible in iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max as they has triple camera setup.

Camera Control Button

Coming to the next important iPhone 16 design factor is the additional ‘camera control button’. This will give easy and quick access to camera without even looking for the app. The button is touch and pressure-sensitive for manual focus, zoom adjustments, and quickly changing modes from photo to video.

The camera control button upscales the iPhone into something that at least feels like a professional camera.

More Button Upgrades-Action Button Replaces Mute Switch

The traditional mute switch, used to toggle the ringer on or off, is going away from the iPhone 16 design now. Instead, Apple is replacing it with an ‘Action Button,’ which was previously exclusive to the Pro models. This button can be remapped to perform various functions, not just muting the ringer. Some are:

  • Record voice memo
  • Identify a song
  • Translate phrases
  • In-app functionality
  • Create shortcuts to calender, flashlight and more

So a lot of customisations will be possible now.

MagSafe

Talking about MagSafe feature, in Apple iPhone 16 design, the attaching ring magnets are supposed to be thinner. the iPhone 16 line will have a single alignment magnet compared to the Apple iPhone 15 series. This may mean a sleeker design. Although there might be a shift, the MagSafe system in Apple iPhone 16 is likely to be compatible with previous MagSafe accessories. There won’t be much compatibility issues.

With that, the iPhone 16 lineup will support faster MagSafe charging, going from 15 watts to 20 watts (for pro models, at least).

Battery Life

The batteries are getting a good upgrade in performance along with physical size. Apple is using a new stacked Battery Technology for better heat desipation and management.

Not to forget, the A18 chip is power efficient and is going to make sure that you have power for a longer duration.

Back Finishing

The device is built in Aerospace grade Aluminium. There won’t be much different in the back panel quality. We are still getting the classy glass finish in the base variant. Only the colour factor when combined may give you the fresh look if you are waiting for that.

Also, the Apple iPhone 16 Pro continues to have premium build quality using materials like natural titanium. It makes the device, in a word, sleek and full of high-end touches, especially the new bronze gold variant.

Colour Options

iPhone 16 design colours

The Apple iPhone 16 will be arriving with a dash of rainbow. (not literally, duh!) The colour options will be vibrant Ultra Marine (blue), teal (green), white, black and a comeback of pink but slightly different. The back glass is fused with these colours to give off a eye-pleasing yet rich hue.

Black and white, natural titanium and a new bronze gold color are reportedly the lineaments for this year’s iPhone 16 Pro models. It seems the earlier reported pink/rose-coloured choice has been replaced with bronze gold.

To be honest, the green colour is the most appealing if you go by the statements from fans all over the world. It would be interesting to see the final sales.

Aesthetics and User Experience:

The Apple iPhone 16, although not too aesthetically different to what came before it, looks a bit more refined with narrower bezels, a slightly larger size, and new colour offerings. These design changes are actually meant to make changes in the user experience. It will be a good change for photography lovers with the addition of the capture button and other features that concern the camera.

Apple has always focused a lot on the User Experience and that has been their core competency since the launch of the first iPhone. With features like Apple Intelligence, Smart Siri, Smart Notifications, and Rewriting tools, Apple has surely worked hard on the user experience.

In The End

With all button removal and inclusions, camera alignment and we can conclude that the design of the Apple iPhone 16 has definitely seen some changes. If they are significant or not, this will only be clear once the Apple Event takes place today at 10:30PM IST, and also when users finally get to experience the phone.

We can at least say that though externally designed the same almost, the internal upgrade, the new battery, and the camera system, the A18 chipset are actually making this model shine.
