Apple is finally entering the AI space with its new Apple Intelligence, which brings generative AI capabilities to Apple devices. The latest AI model will be available on iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia later this year. It promises to simplify everyday tasks and perform contextual actions based on prompts. Here is everything you need to know about Apple Intelligence, including its availability and supported devices.

Apple Intelligence Is Coming To All Apple Devices

Apple Intelligence Arriving On All Apple Devices

The new Apple Intelligence Feature offers a mix of on-device generative AI and server-based processing on Apple’s silicon servers. Furthermore, it will be available across apps like Mail, Notes, Pages and third-party apps, allowing users to write, rewrite, proofread and summarise things they have written.

You can ask Apple Intelligence to draft an email, proofread your blog post, or summarize an article. It can also show different text versions to adjust the tone or add creativity or humour.

Moreover, it can check the grammar, sentence structure, and word choice by explaining the changes made. The summarize feature can provide bullet points, a table or a list of the written article.

In the Mail app, Apple Intelligence can show you the priority emails and summarise each one so you don’t need to open them. There is also a Smart Reply feature that can suggest quick responses.

Apple Intelligence will function in Notification to help you stay on top of the clutter with priority notifications and a summary of stacked notifications. The reduced interruptions feature can only show notifications that require immediate attention.

In the Notes and Phone apps, you can use Apple Intelligence to record, transcribe and summarise audio. It will also generate a recording summary and notify participants when the call ends.

New Genmoji And Photos App Features

The new Genmoji feature can create an AI-generated emoji based on descriptive text. Using their photos, you can also make a Genmoji for your friends and family.

Another new feature is the ability to search for specific photos based on their description in the pictures. You can also look up particular moments in a video clip, while the new Clean Up tool that works similarly to Magic Eraser can remove objects from a photo.

Siri Becomes Smarter In iOS 18

Siri is also getting smarter with Apple Intelligence. With a brand-new design, it can understand contextual actions and seamlessly switch between text and audio inputs.

Siri can understand the context of your command and perform actions accordingly in both first-party and third-party apps. For example, if you ask, “When is Mom’s flight landing?” it can show you the flight details with real-time tracking and directions to the airport.

To keep these conversations secure, Apple Intelligence relies on the Private Cloud Compute, which processes most requests entirely on the device. Even those requests that require cloud processing will be cryptographically matched for inspection.
