  • Apple revamped its MagSafe charger alongside the Apple iPhone 16 series release last September. The company is preparing to roll out another updated version this fall with the upcoming iPhone lineup. As per the latest leaks, two new Apple MagSafe chargers have surfaced online. Both have been recently certified by Taiwan’s National Communications Commission (NCC). So, let’s read to know all the information about this.

The leaks on the upcoming Apple MagSafe chargers hint that they will be compatible with the next generation of iPhones, with backward support likely reaching as far as the Apple iPhone 11.

These MagSafe chargers are identified by model numbers A3503 and A3502. The devices have passed regulatory approval from Taiwan’s National Communications Commission (NCC), the authority responsible for certifying tech products.

Both Apple MagSafe chargers feature braided cables, differing in length: the A3503 includes a 2-meter cable, while the A3502 comes with a shorter 1-meter version. Although their external design remains nearly identical to the current MagSafe charger, these new models support the latest Qi 2.2 wireless charging standard, introduced earlier this year by the Wireless Power Consortium.

Qi 2.2 Standar For These Chargers

Qi 2.2 introduces faster wireless charging speeds of up to 50W, along with better magnetic alignment and greater energy efficiency. According to the leaks and certifications for Apple’s upcoming MagSafe chargers, they support charging at 45W (15V × 3A) when paired with a compatible USB PD power adapter.

The iPhone 16 series currently supports wireless charging speeds of up to 25W, so an increase to 45W would mark a significant improvement. This potential jump in wireless power could also hint at a corresponding upgrade in wired charging, which is currently limited to 25W as well.
