Recently, rumours began flooding in on the internet that Battlefield 2042 may have been delayed. Multiple leaksters and fans suggested a delay. Moreover, several leaksters also suggested that the game may have even been pushed to next year. However, the EA has finally broken their silence on this and have rolled out an official notice. The game has now officially been delayed till November 19, 2021.
Battlefield 2042 was previously supposed to release on October 22, 2021. However, now the game has been delayed by almost an entire month. It only makes sense as the game’s Open Beta is not even out yet. It was a bold and quick decision made by DICE and EA to officially reveal their delay plans. The good news is that the 2022 release date rumours are not true and the game will be releasing in 2021 itself.
Battlefield 2042 Delay: What Else?
The dev team has assured players that there will be more information about the Open Beta coming later this According to the notice, we will be getting an update on the Open Beta for the game later this month. Oskar Gabrielson and the Battlefield 2042 Development Team have stated how the ongoing global pandemic is the primary reason behind the delay.
Further, the notice states that the team has been working from home and they expected that they will finally be able to come together in office premises to complete the game. However, that has not been the case, owing to the pandemic and they want to give certain finishing touches to the game before officially releasing it.
The Open Beta for the game was supposed to release this September but, given the fact that there has now been a delay, the Open Beta could be pushed till October as well. With Call of Duty Vanguard, Halo Infinite and more such AAA titles on their way, the Battlefield 2042 brings for release gap between the titles. That is both good and bad but at the same time, the fact that the game will be releasing this year itself is a major relief. When fans of the franchise got to hear about the game’s possible 2022 release, they were disappointed. We hope the Open Beta date is officially announced soon.
