Earlier this year, PlayStation had stated that they had certain plans towards a mobile port of their popular games. Mobile gaming is one of the largest industries in the world. We are seeing multiple games arrive to mobile. Also, going by the fact that a mid-ranger mobile is powerful enough to deliver console level gaming experience in the contemporary world explains a lot.
The idea of console quality gaming was definitely not possible to turn into reality back in the day. However, now, with advancements in technologies rolling out on an active basis, that can finally be a reality. PlayStation is now indeed working towards introducing their leading titles for the mobile platform.
Now, according to a new report, former Apple Arcade Head of Content Nicola Sebastiani has been appointed as Head of Mobile for PlayStation Studios. Apple Arcade is a paid service that offers a bunch of different games for the iOS platform.
Currently, WipeOut is a title that has been confirmed to arrive to mobile. We will definitely get to hear of more and more games getting confirmed in the coming days. Mobile gaming is easily accessible and can now be afforded by a lot of people.
PlayStation Takes Baby Steps Towards Mobile Port
A report by VGC (Video Games Chronicle), states that Nicola Sebastiani will be working towards developing a roadmap. Moreover, this roadmap will be on the basis of a span of 3-5 years for the mobile division.
Earlier this year, Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO and President Jim Ryan stated that, “In FY21 we will begin to publish some of our iconic PlayStation IP on mobile and we anticipate that in 2021, that will not provide a significant profit flow, but we do anticipate that as we learn from that experience, and as we increase the number of titles that we publish on mobile, the contribution from both PC and mobile will start to become steadily more important as time passes.”
