According to tipster FrontTron, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra will actually be called the Galaxy S22 Note. It pretty much confirms two things: that the Note series is finally dead, and that the Galaxy S22 Ultra/S22 Note will feature a silo for the S-Pen. Moreover, this move will help bring Note fans into the Fold. In case they were waiting for the next-gen standalone Note model in 2022.

Galaxy S22 Ultra Leaks Till Now

Earlier leaked renders and real-life images of Samsung’s high-end flagship Galaxy S22 Ultra seem to showcase a Galaxy Note successor. It has a boxy look and will apparently offer a slot for storing the S Pen stylus. It also stands out from the other two models. A myriad of rumours hinting at different monikers surfaced online with no evidence. Late last month, a report surfaced asserting Samsung has no plans to release a Note phone in 2022, or probably ever.

Meanwhile, many Samsung fans will be happy to finally see a Samsung flagship since the Note 20 series will now feature an S-Pen slot. Both the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra and the Galaxy Z Fold 3, the company’s latest flagship devices, support the S-Pen but come with no dedicated slot for the same.

According to leaks, Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra might feature a quad-camera setup with a 108-megapixel primary sensor, 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens, a 10-megapixel telephoto unit with 3x zoom, and a separate 10-megapixel telephoto lens with 10x zoom. A tall display with a centre-aligned punch-hole design, curved corners, a housing for the S Pen, Type-C port, and metal body will also be part of the package. The phone will also get Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, Android 12 OS, and up to 12GB RAM. Many are expecting the series to launch sometime in February 2022.
