If you happen to own an Apple iPhone 12 or the iPhone 12 Mini, here’s some good news for you. In case you thinking of replacing the rear glass on the aforementioned, now it is possible to do so.
Apple will enable users to replace the rear cracked glass on your iPhone 12 starting from February 23. Up until now, you need to replace the whole device if you cracked the rear glass of your phone.

The Cupertino based company also sent a memo to authorized repair providers with an explanation on how to replace the glass of the iPhone 12.
In order to make the replacement, Apple has sent service centres an “iPhone Rear System”. The package comes with every component on the Apple iPhone 12 except the display and the rear camera. Some of the components in the package include the Battery, Face ID and the Taptic Engine amongst several other parts.

One thing to note is that the replacement process requires the display and the rear camera to be intact and fully functional. The new repairs that are now possible are applicable in every country the Apple iPhone 12 and the iPhone 12 Mini are available. Having said that, the repairs are still not possible on the iPhone 12 Pro and the iPhone 12 Pro Max.
This might come as a relief to users who have broken the rear glass on their Apple iPhone 12 and do not want to replace their phones.
