Apple enthusiasts do not have to wait long now for iPhone 13 launch now. We already know the launch will happen sometime in September however, the question is as to when. Earlier, there were rumours of the launch happening in the second week of September were rife. Although new reports suggested that it may launch in the third week of September. Now, a recent development hints at a date for the launch of the series.
According to an image from IT Home, Apple may be planning to launch the iPhone 13 on Friday, September 17 and third-generation AirPods on Thursday, September 30, 2021. The screenshot lists all four models expected to be part of the series — iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max, and iPhone 13mini. However, only the vanilla model is seen without any cover. It also shows what could be the Sunset Gold colourway with dual rear cameras and a notch at the front.
Additionally, it also suggests that AirPods 3 could be unveiled on September 30 date. They could come with IPX4 water resistance. It is unclear what the final marketing name for the third generation AirPods. Apart from this, no other information on the iPhone 13 series or AirPods was available.
More Leaks on the iPhone 13 series
This corroborates a previous report from Wedbush Securities that also suggested a similar timeline for the launch. The analyst also mentioned in the note that there would be a 1TB storage option for the high-end iPhone 13 Pro models. Currently, 512GB is the highest storage option by Apple. It is also available to the iPhone 12 Pro models.
On the other hand, another report from Trendforce revealed that the iPhone 13 series could feature bigger batteries. This may be similar pricing to the iPhone 12 series. It also states that since the devices will not come with significant hardware upgrades, the manufacturing cost will be less.
Ahead of the launch, some key details about the device’s camera have leaked. According to Bloomberg, Apple will introduce Portrait mode video on the next iPhone. A new ProRes video-recording feature will let iPhone users capture HD or 4K clips in a higher-quality format that gives editors more control during post-production. In addition, they will add a new filter-like system that improves the look and colours of photos for iPhone 13. We will know more as its launch inches closer and leaks pour in.
