OPPO has now rolled out the newest ColorOS 13 upgrade for the OPPO Reno7 Pro 5G in India after the release of the new Android 13 update and the current ColorOS 13 update for its different mid-range and premium OPPO phones in 2022. The company confirmed that ColorOS 13 for Reno7 Pro began rolling out on December 16, adding that customers would receive it in phases.

The OPPO Reno8 5G series, released earlier this year, has also received the ColorOS 13 update based on Android 13.

Features of Android 13-based ColorOS 13

The new ColorOS 13 release has a new Aquamorphic design, which according to OPPO, will give smoother, more creative, and more vivid animations. It allows users to use bitmojis in their Always-On Display (AoD) animations. The new update now recognises the most significant moments in a user-created video and allows them to export that moment and save it to the Photos app with a single click. It improves the user experience by allowing users to add huge folders to the home screen with personalisation choices.

The update also increases security and privacy. Moreover, it includes Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) to encrypt all data for improved privacy and security. Furthermore, it has an automated pixelation tool to conceal private and sensitive data, specifically for conversation snapshots.

Consider these points before installing the ColorOS 13 update

OPPO has recommended customers back up their data before running the update on their phones in case of problems. Following installation, the OS will do several activities to optimise the device’s operation. According to OPPO, this may cause the phone to heat up, the battery to drain quickly, and some apps to slow down. As a result, customers will have to switch off their device’s screen. Moreover, charge it overnight following the successful installation of the update.

Additionally, due to incompatibility with the latest ColorOS 13 upgrade, a few third-party apps may crash often. As a result, users are advised to first upgrade their apps from the Play Store or App Market for optimal performance.
