To prevent multiple users from accessing a single Netflix account, Netflix has announced plans to ban password sharing and is currently implementing anti-password-sharing features across all of its markets. Netflix’s account-sharing policy undergoing some revisions to recoup lost revenue that results from customers sharing their credentials with others outside of their immediate families. This has been emphasised on Netflix’s revised India website FAQ page.

Plans for Netflix in India

In India, Netflix presently provides four different plans, and it just cut its pricing to make its deals more enticing. The base or Mobile plan costs Rs 149 per month and gives one user access to mobile screen streaming. Only SD content is available to viewers who subscribe to this package.

The highest plan now permits interoperability with four devices and a total of six screens. Viewers can take advantage of Netflix’s Spatial Audio technology and watch the material in Ultra HD. The Premium plan costs Rs 649 a month, and it is available.

Password sharing on Netflix is legal, but only with members of the immediate family who reside in the same physical household. Users must stream content from the Netflix app or website at least once every 31 days to comply with the company’s requirement that they log in from their residence using their home Wi-Fi network.
