iQOO 13 Design and Build

If you are an iQOO fan, one of the first models you are probably excited about is the iQOO 13, which comes with a sleek and premium design similar to the iQOO 12. One of the major differences is the glass cover of the camera module with RGB lights embedded around the edges. I think this RGB effect is a nice touch for gamers and anyone who loves a bit of flair. At the same time, it only has a light weight of 207 grams and a body dimension of 163.4 x 76.7 x 8 mm.

iQOO 13 Review: design

The metal frame of the phone is integrated into the tempered glass back and has a smooth reflective surface, which gives it a sturdy yet comfortable feel. During prolonged use, it sits comfortably in the hand due to the slightly bulging sides. It is available in four colours: green, silver, white (BMW M branding) and black.

iQOO 13 Review: Design

These colours will appeal to a variety of tastes, although for my own pleasure, I prefer the silver or green finish since these colours provide an elegant style to the phone. Lastly, it has an IP68/IP69 rating to protect it from dust and water. So, the iQOO 13 design review is outstanding.

iQOO 13 Camera

The iQOO 13 is equipped with a 50MP wide lens, 50MP telephoto lens, and 50MP ultra-wide lens for three cameras. The primary shooter can take photos with vivid colours and intricate details, performing especially well in good light. There is a 35 mm Human Eye Photography mode that serves to take more natural-looking portraits. The images are generally quite nice, but I think the telephoto sensor could be improved as it provides some average shots.

iQOO 13 Review: Camera

A periscope lens that was available in the iQOO 12 is absent in the new version, which is unfortunate. If iQOO had added it as one of the features, the overall camera experience would have been improved.

This phone also has a 32MP front camera, offering the best selfie experience in every condition. In terms of videography, you can record 8K videos at 30fps and 4K at 24fps with a rear camera. But its front camera only supports 1080p video recording at 30fps. I think it should have 4K videography. Overall, the iQOO 13 camera review is decent and, over to say, excellent.

iQOO 13 Battery and Charging

iQOO 13 battery life is impressive on this device. It packs a 6,150mAh dual-cell battery, which, despite the slim 7.9mm thickness, lasts well through a full day with moderate to heavy use. Whether it’s gaming or watching videos, you won’t have to worry about constantly charging it.

In terms of charging, it also supports 120W fast charging, which means you can top up quickly. iQOO said that it can charge 100 per cent in just 30 minutes after plug-in. I think this fast-charging feature is a huge win, especially for heavy users who hate waiting for a full charge. So, the iQOO 13 battery review is fantastic.

iQOO 13 Display

iQOO 13 has a 6.82 inches LTPO AMOLED screen with a 2K resolution display and a smooth 144Hz refresh rate. It is perfect for gamers and content lovers. It also has a display resolution of 1440 x 3168 pixels and 510PPI density. I really appreciate the anti-reflective tech and 4,500 of maximum brightness, making it easy to view even in bright lighting conditions.

The screen-to-body ratio is 90.2 per cent, making the visuals immersive. There’s also an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, which quickly unlocks the phone. Overall, the display on the iQOO 13 is definitely one of the highlights and will make your gaming and streaming experience much more enjoyable.

iQOO 13 Performance

iQOO 13 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, making it the first phone with this chipset. This chip, combined with LPDDR8 Ultra RAM, delivers incredibly smooth performance, whether you’re switching between apps or playing high-end games. So, the iQOO performance review is top-notch.

This also has a UFS 4.0 type storage, offering fast data transfers and helping to extend the battery life. You will get five storage variants with it, including 256GB storage 12GB RAM, 256GB storage 16GB RAM, 512GB storage 12GB RAM, 512GB storage 16GB RAM, and 1TB storage 16GB RAM.

In terms of gaming, it handled demanding games like BGMI, Call of Duty COC, and Asphalt 9 Impact effortlessly. You can play for 30 minutes on high settings at 60 fps and will experience any frame drops, which is fantastic. Plus, it has an independent display chip (Q2), which enhances image quality and reduces processor strain during gaming. I love this feature because it ensures the visuals stay sharp without heating the phone.

iQOO 13 Software and UI

iQOO 13 has Android 15 based on OriginOS 5, and I must say it is really smooth and easy to use. It has some customizable features, which I find appealing, especially for the RGB lights. However, as is the case with a lot of Android skins, OriginOS 5 also comes with a few default apps. Some users may consider this to be irritating, but you can uninstall them easily. Otherwise, it can slow your device over time.

iQOO 13 Review: OS

The UI is well executed and does not lag, but I would like to point out that the settings menu is a bit cluttered and could be optimized further by iQOO. If they do so, it will improve the experience even further. So, in the iQOO 13 software review, there is no more to say.

Verdict

iQOO 13 is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a high-performance phone with an eye-catching design and some unique features. With a fantastic display, powerful processor, and solid battery life, it ticks all the right boxes for gaming and everyday use. However, the camera could use a bit of improvement, especially in the telephoto department.

If you’re into gaming, need a vibrant display, and want a design that stands out, the iQOO 13 should be on your radar. But there are a few more phones like the Apple iPhone 15, Samsung Galaxy S24 5G, Samsung Galaxy S24 SE, Xiaomi 14, OnePlus 12 5G, Vivo 40 Pro, etc. So, you can use their phone features before buying. Thanks for reading my iQOO 13 review.
